A Boy's First Date: Love, Lies, and a Huggies-Wearing 28-Year-Old

Chapter One: The Unconventional First Date

Ethan nervously checked his watch as he waited in line at the bustling coffee shop. He was early, as always, and he couldn't help but scan the room for any sign of his date. A young woman with long brunette hair caught his eye, but as she got closer, he could tell she wasn't the one.

Just as he was about to step out of line and find a seat, a stunning woman in her late twenties approached him. She wore a fitted black dress and a mischievous smile.

"Ethan?" she asked, extending her hand. "I'm Ava."

Ethan was taken aback by her directness. Most women he met on dating apps were coy and reserved, but Ava seemed anything but.

"Nice to meet you," he stammered, taking her hand.

Ava's eyes twinkled as she studied him. "So, Ethan, tell me about yourself," she said, wasting no time.

Ethan shifted nervously, sizing her up. There was something off about her, something he couldn't quite put his finger on. Maybe it was the Map shirt she was wearing, or the way she seemed to be sizing him up.

"Well, I'm a software engineer," he began, trying to steady his voice. "I like hiking, reading, and playing the guitar."

Ava raised an eyebrow. "A software engineer, huh? Do you code in your sleep?"

Ethan laughed, trying to lighten the mood. "Sometimes it feels like it."

Ava ordered a black coffee and made a playful jab at Ethan's order. "A vanilla latte? How basic," she teased, winking at him.

Ethan felt his face flush. He had always been self-conscious about his drink order, but he had never met anyone who called him out on it.

"I like what I like," he said defensively.

Ava leaned in close, her lips brushing against his ear. "I know what you're thinking. I'm not a cougar, I'm a panther," she whispered, her breath hot against his skin.

Ethan's heart raced as Ava pulled away, giving him a playful wink. He was both excited and terrified at the same time.

Out of nowhere, Ava leaned in and planted a kiss on Ethan's cheek, leaving him stunned and blushing. He could feel the eyes of the other patrons on them, but he didn't care.

"Don't worry, I'm not a pedophile," Ava said, noticing his confusion. "I just have a thing for guys who can keep up with me."

Ethan started to relax, realizing that Ava was not what she seemed. She was bold, confident, and unapologetic.

Ava challenged Ethan to a dance-off, saying, "I heard you're quite the dancer. Let's see what you've got."

Ethan hesitated, but Ava's confidence was contagious. He got up and started to dance, impressing Ava with his moves.

As the night went on, Ethan realized that this was not the typical first date he was expecting, but he was having the time of his life. He was drawn to Ava's strength, her confidence, and her unconventionality.

And as they danced and laughed, Ethan couldn't help but wonder what other surprises Ava had in store for him.
