The Hogwarts library was a place of solace for many students, but for Hermione Granger, it had become a source of frustration. Tonight was no different. She stormed into the library, her eyes blazing with determination. She had had enough of Draco Malfoy's antics and was determined to find a counter-curse for the latest prank.
As she turned the corner, she spotted Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, trying to hide a suspicious-looking spellbook under a pile of books. Hermione rolled her eyes, "You two are as predictable as a textbook. I suppose Malfoy talked you into this little stunt?"
Harry and Ron looked at each other and nodded, still snickering. Hermione shook her head, "I should've known. You both have the maturity of a toddler when it comes to dealing with him."
She snatched the spellbook from their hands and flipped through the pages, her eyes scanning for the incantation that reduced her friends to naked toddlers. Finding it, she muttered the counter-curse, but nothing happened. She tried again, with the same result.
Harry and Ron, now serious, looked at each other, then at Hermione. "Hermione, what's going on?" Harry asked.
Hermione's face fell. "The counter-curse isn't working. I think Malfoy added a modification to make it permanent."
Ron's eyes widened. "Permanent? But we have to get to class!"
Hermione nodded. "I know. We need to find Malfoy and make him reverse it."
Harry and Ron nodded, still looking shocked. Hermione rolled her eyes, "Well, come on. We can't exactly waltz into the Slytherin common room like this."
As they made their way through the castle, Hermione's mind raced, trying to figure out a plan. They ran into Crabbe and Goyle, who snickered and pointed at Harry and Ron. "Looks like Malfoy's little prank worked," Crabbe said.
Hermione glared at them. "You two are just as bad as he is. Where is Malfoy?"
Crabbe and Goyle looked at each other, then back at Hermione. "He's in the dungeons, with some first-year Slytherins."
Hermione nodded, her mind made up. "Let's go."
As they made their way down to the dungeons, Hermione couldn't help but feel a sense of urgency. She had to find a way to reverse the curse, and she wasn't going to stop until she did.
When they arrived at the Slytherin common room, Hermione took a deep breath and approached the group of Slytherins. "Malfoy, we need to talk," she said, her voice firm and confident.
Malfoy looked up, a smirk on his face. "Well, well, well, if it isn't the Mudblood and her little pets. What do you want?"
Hermione's eyes narrowed. "You know very well what I want. Reverse the curse."
Malfoy laughed. "Why should I? It's quite amusing, really."
Hermione's patience was wearing thin. "Reverse it now, or I'll make sure you regret it."
Malfoy's smirk faltered. "You wouldn't dare."
Hermione's eyes flashed. "Try me."
Malfoy hesitated, then waved his wand. Harry and Ron transformed back to their normal selves.
Hermione let out a sigh of relief. "Good. Now, don't ever do something like this again."
Malfoy rolled his eyes. "Fine, whatever. Just get out of here."
Hermione nodded, then turned to Harry and Ron. "Let's go."
As they made their way back to Gryffindor tower, Hermione couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. She had faced off against Malfoy and won. She was strong, controlling, and direct, just as she had always wanted to be. And she wasn't going to let anyone stand in her way.
