The convenience store was a dimly lit oasis in the middle of nowhere, the last bastion of civilization before the long stretch of empty road that led to nowhere. Samantha, the cashier and sole occupant of the store, was busy cleaning up when she heard the doorbell ring. She looked up, expecting to see another weary traveler looking for a snack or a drink, but instead, she saw a tall, handsome stranger walk in.
Samantha was a strong-willed woman, tall and muscular, with tattoos covering her arms and neck. She was not easily impressed, but there was something about this stranger that caught her eye.
