The air in the cramped living room was thick with humidity, the scent of sweat mingling with the faint aroma of alcohol. Akane's mother and her boyfriend stumbled through the front door, their laughter echoing through the small house as they made their way towards the kitchen.
Akane paid them no mind, her focus entirely on the gymnastics routine she was practicing. She moved with grace and power, her toned body twisting and turning through the air as she landed each flip with ease. But as she landed her final move, a difficult back handspring, she couldn't help but let out a small huff of breath.
"Well, well, well, look who it is. Our little slut in training," Akane's mother slurred, her words sharp and biting as she stumbled into the living room. She leaned against the wall, her sunken eyes scanning Akane's body with a mixture of disgust and envy.
Akane's mother's boyfriend, a greasy man with a leering grin, moved closer to Akane. "I heard you've been getting pretty cozy with Nekomaru. Is that why you've been acting like such a little whore?" he asked, his voice dripping with sleaze.
Akane's eyes flashed with anger as she dodged his advances. "Don't touch me," she spat, her voice low and dangerous.
Her mother's words cut through the air like a knife. "I know about the pregnancy, Akane. Who's the father? Is it Nekomaru?"
Akane hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Yes, it's Nekomaru," she said, her voice steady and strong.
Her mother's face twisted in rage. "That bastard! I'll kill him!" she screamed, before storming off towards her bedroom.
Akane's mother's boyfriend moved closer, his hand reaching out towards her. "Come on, Akane. You know you want it. I'll make you feel good," he said, his voice dripping with false sincerity.
Akane's eyes narrowed as she pushed his hand away. "I don't want you. I never have. Leave me alone," she said, her voice cold and detached.
The man sneered at her, calling her a "bitch" and a "tease" before stumbling out of the house.
Akane let out a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest. She knew that telling her mother about the pregnancy wouldn't be easy, but she hadn't expected this level of anger and betrayal.
She grabbed her bag and headed to the library, needing a moment to clear her head. As she walked, she could feel the eyes of the men on the street on her, their catcalls and whistles making her skin crawl.
But she didn't let it get to her. She knew that she was strong, that she was capable. She could handle whatever came her way.
At the library, she found a quiet corner and lost herself in a book. But eventually, she knew she had to face reality again. She had to tell Nekomaru about the baby, and they had to figure out how they were going to raise it together.
As she made her way to his house, her heart pounded in her chest. But when he opened the door and looked at her with love and support, she knew that everything was going to be okay.
They spent the day talking and making plans, their laughter and playful banter easing the tension. And as the sun set, Akane headed home, her heart full of love and hope. She knew that the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but she was ready for whatever came her way. She was strong, she was capable, and she was in control of her own destiny.
