Akane's Ultimate Balancing Act: Pregnant, Broke, and Topping the Food Chain at 17

Chapter One: Unwanted Decisions

Akane kicked off her heels as she stepped through the door of her small, cramped apartment. She had just finished a long shift at the diner, and all she wanted was to crawl into bed and sleep for a week. But of course, that was too much to ask for.

"Hey, look who's home," a sleazy voice called out from the couch. Takashi, her mother's latest boyfriend, leered at her from his reclined position. "You're looking good enough to eat, Akane."

She rolled her eyes and ignored him, used to this kind of treatment from the men in her neighborhood. She didn't have the energy to deal with his advances tonight.

Just then, her mother stumbled out of the bedroom, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "Oh, you're home," she said, sounding uninterested. "Takashi and I have some news for you."

Akane's heart sank. She couldn't imagine what kind of news they could have that would be good for her.

Takashi spoke up, a smug look on his face. "We found out about your little situation, Akane. Your mother and I have decided that it's for the best if you move out and live with the father of your child."

Akane's eyes widened in shock. "What? No, I can't do that. I barely know Nekomaru."

Her mother scoffed. "You shouldn't have been so irresponsible, Akane. Now you have to deal with the consequences."

Takashi chimed in, "Yeah, you're a teenage mother now. You need to start acting like one."

Akane felt a surge of anger and frustration. "I can't believe you're forcing me to do this. I'm not ready to live with Nekomaru."

Her mother and Takashi dismissed her concerns, telling her that it was for the best. Akane tried to reason with them, but they were unmoved. She felt hopeless and alone.

In a last-ditch effort, Akane threatened to call the police if they didn't back down. Takashi and her mother laughed at her, telling her she didn't have the guts.

Akane realized that she was outnumbered and outmatched. She stormed out of the apartment, tears streaming down her face. She had no idea where she was going to go or what she was going to do.

She considered going to the library, but dismissed the idea. She needed to think things through and make a plan.

As she walked down the streets of her neighborhood, Akane couldn't help but feel lost and alone. She had never felt so helpless before.

She started to walk towards Nekomaru's house, feeling a mix of fear and curiosity. She knew that she had to face this situation head-on, no matter how difficult it may be.

She took a deep breath and steeled herself for what was to come. It was time to take control of her own life, no matter what anyone else said.
