Akane's Unexpected Tumble: An Pregnancy Predicament, Courtesy of Nekomaru's 'Coaching'

Chapter One: A Mother's Decision

Akane dragged herself through the front door of her small, cramped apartment, her shoulders slumped with exhaustion. It had been a long day at school and work, and all she wanted was to kick off her shoes, crawl into bed, and forget the world for a few hours.

But as she made her way down the hallway, she heard the sound of raised voices coming from the living room. She paused, listening. It sounded like her mother and someone else, their words slurred and rowdy.

With a sigh, Akane continued down the hall, her mind made up. She would tell them to keep it down, and then she would retreat to the sanctuary of her bedroom. But as she entered the living room, her eyes widened in surprise.

There, on the couch, was her mother, her hair disheveled and her eyes glazed. Next to her was a man Akane had never seen before, his arm draped over her mother's shoulders. They were both drunk, their laughter loud and obnoxious.

But it was the way they turned their attention to her that made Akane's stomach twist with dread. She knew that look, that predatory gleam in their eyes. They had been talking about her, and not in a good way.

"Well, well, well, look what the cat dragged in," her mother slurred, a cruel smile twisting her lips. "How was your day, dear? Still knocked up, I see."

Akane rolled her eyes, used to her mother's crude comments by now. "Yes, mother, I'm still pregnant. Big surprise."

The new boyfriend chimed in, his tone condescending. "You know, it's really a shame. Such a young girl, ruining her life already. And with a bastard child, no less."

Akane's eyes flashed with anger, her hackles rising. She was not one to be spoken to in such a way, especially not by some stranger. "Excuse me?" she snapped, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Did I ask for your opinion? I didn't think so."

The man sneered at her, his eyes narrowing. "You should be grateful, girl. Your mother is doing you a favor, sending you away to a home for pregnant teens. At least there, you can learn to be a decent human being."

Akane's heart raced, the words sending a wave of shock and hurt crashing over her. She had known this was coming, but hearing it out loud still felt like a punch to the gut.

"You can't be serious," she breathed, her voice shaking. "You can't just send me away like this. We can't afford it."

Her mother shrugged, her expression cold. "It's already been decided. You'll leave next week."

Akane's mind raced, her thoughts spinning. She couldn't believe this was happening. She couldn't leave, not like this.

"Please, mother," she begged, her voice desperate. "Think about what you're doing. We can't afford to send me away. And what about the baby? I can't just abandon it."

The new boyfriend snorted, his contempt clear. "Abandon it? You should be thankful. No one wants a bastard child. It's better off without you."

Akane's anger boiled over, her fists clenched at her sides. "How dare you," she hissed, her eyes flashing. "You don't know anything about me or my child. You're nothing but a leech, sucking the life out of my mother. Get out of our lives, and leave us alone."

The tension in the room was palpable, the air thick with hostility. Akane's mother glared at her, her eyes narrowed.

"If you don't comply, I'll kick you out," she threatened, her voice low. "You'll be on the streets, with no one to turn to. Is that what you want?"

Akane felt defeated, her shoulders slumping. She knew she had
