The front door creaked open, revealing a sight that Akane had grown all too familiar with – her mother, stumbling in with a new boyfriend in tow. This one was particularly unsettling, with a lecherous grin plastered on his face.
Akane, lying on the couch and flipping through a gymnastics magazine, barely spared them a glance. But her mother’s slurred words cut through the air, “I can’t believe you, Akane. A pregnant teenager, slutting around with Nekomaru.”
Akane rolled her eyes, unperturbed by her mother’s drunken insults. The creepy boyfriend chimed in, “Akane, why did you have to be so reckless? Having a child at such a young age.”
Akane retorted, her voice sharp, “At least I waited until I was sixteen, unlike some people.” The man’s face fell, and Akane couldn’t help but smirk. She had a way with words, and she wasn’t afraid to use them.
Her mother, now furious, threw a bottle of wine at Akane. But Akane was quick, catching it with ease and tossing it back to her mother, who narrowly avoided getting hit. “Mom, maybe you should slow down on the alcohol. It’s not good for the baby.”
The boyfriend, still trying to save face, asked Akane how she planned to raise the child. Akane smirked, “Well, I have a few ideas. Like maybe finding a real job instead of leeching off of my mom.”
Her mother lunged at Akane, but Akane was prepared. She used her gymnastics skills to flip over her mother and land on the other side of the room. Akane stood up, her pose confident. “I can handle this situation on my own. I don’t need your help or input.”
Her mother, defeated, stumbled out of the house with her boyfriend in tow, leaving Akane alone with her thoughts. She did a few stretches, feeling a sudden surge of energy. She decided to go for a run to clear her mind.
As she ran through her neighborhood, she thought about Nekomaru and how they would raise their child together. She also thought about how she would prove her mother and her mother’s boyfriend wrong, showing them that she was strong, capable, and in control of her own life.
Akane returned home, feeling refreshed and ready to face whatever challenges came her way. She laid down on her bed, feeling the baby kick inside of her, and smiled, knowing that she would be a great mom and that her child would be loved and cared for.
Akane fell asleep, dreaming of a bright future for herself and her unborn child. She was determined to make it happen, no matter what obstacles stood in her way.
