Amazon's Cruel Feast

### Chapter One: The Towering Temptress

The forest on the edge of Eldergrove was a labyrinth of whispers and shadows, a place where the mist clung to the earth like a jealous lover and the trees seemed to lean in close, as if eager to share a secret. Kael, a lanky 15-year-old with eyes too wide for his own good, trudged through the undergrowth, his arms already burdened with a pitiful bundle of twigs. Firewood was the goal, a simple task given by his mother, but the deeper he wandered, the more the forest felt like a living thing, watching him with unseen eyes.

He muttered to himself, kicking at a stubborn root. “Just a bit more, then I’m out of here. This place gives me the creeps.” His voice trembled slightly, betraying the bravado he tried to muster. A twig snapped somewhere to his left, and he froze, his heart thumping like a rabbit’s. “Hello?” he called, his voice cracking. “Anyone there?”

A low, throaty chuckle rolled through the mist, sending a shiver down his spine. Before he could bolt, a figure emerged from the haze—a woman, if you could call her that. She was a giantess, nearly seven feet of raw, sculpted muscle, her skin bronzed by a sun Kael swore never touched this cursed forest. Her hair, a wild cascade of black, framed a face that was both beautiful and terrifying, with sharp cheekbones and a predatory grin that showed just a hint too much teeth. She wore little more than a leather vest and shorts, her powerful limbs on full display as she leaned casually against a tree, one hand resting on the hilt of a dagger at her hip.

“Well, well,” she purred, her voice a velvet blade, “what do we have here? A little lamb wandering into the wolf’s den?” Her dark eyes raked over Kael, and he felt suddenly smaller than his already scrawny frame suggested.

Kael swallowed hard, clutching his bundle of sticks like a shield. “I-I’m just getting firewood. I didn’t mean to—uh—trespass or anything. I’ll go now.”

“Oh, no, no, no,” she said, pushing off the tree with a fluid grace that belied her size. She took a step closer, and Kael instinctively backed up, only to trip over a root and nearly sprawl on his backside. Her laugh was a rich, mocking sound that echoed through the trees. “You don’t just stumble into Vira’s territory and scamper off without a proper introduction. What’s your name, little lamb?”

“K-Kael,” he stammered, his cheeks flaming as he scrambled to his feet. He couldn’t look at her for long—her gaze was too intense, like she could see straight through to his hammering heart.

“Ka-el,” she drawled, stretching the syllables out as if tasting them. She took another step, closing the distance between them until he could smell the faint tang of sweat and earth on her skin. “Cute. You’re all nerves and blushes, aren’t you? Do I scare you, Kael?”

“N-no!” he lied, his voice pitching up an octave. He tried to straighten his shoulders, but under her towering presence, he felt like a child playing at being brave. “I’m just… surprised, that’s all. You’re, uh, really tall.”

Vira threw her head back and laughed, the sound vibrating through the misty air. “Oh, darling, you have no idea just how big I can be.” Her tone dipped into something suggestive, her grin widening as she watched his face turn an even deeper shade of red. She bent down slightly, bringing her face closer to his, her breath warm against his cheek. “Tell me, little lamb, do they not warn boys like you about wandering into dark woods? Or are you just begging to be eaten up?”

Kael blinked rapidly, his mind scrambling to catch up with her words. “E-eaten? Like… by wolves? Or… or bears?”

Her smirk was positively wicked. “Something like that.” She straightened up, crossing her arms over her broad chest, the muscles in her forearms flexing with casual menace. “But don’t worry, I don’t bite… unless you ask nicely.”

He stared at her, utterly lost, his mouth opening and closing like a fish out of water. “I… I don’t… what?”

Vira sighed dramatically, rolling her eyes. “Gods, you’re green. It’s almost too easy to mess with you. But I like that—makes the game more fun.” She stepped even closer, her shadow swallowing him whole as she loomed over him. With a single finger, she tipped his chin up, forcing him to meet her gaze. Her touch was firm, unyielding, and Kael felt his knees wobble. “Here’s the deal, Kael. You’re in my forest now, which means you play by my rules. And rule number one? You don’t run unless I tell you to. Got it?”

He nodded mutely, too overwhelmed to do anything else. Her finger lingered under his chin for a moment longer before she pulled back, her grin never faltering. “Good boy,” she said, her voice dripping with mock sweetness. “Now, let’s see how well you follow orders. Drop the sticks.”

“W-what? But I need them for—”

“Drop. Them.” Her tone left no room for argument, each word a command that seemed to root him to the spot. With trembling hands, Kael let the bundle fall to the ground, the twigs scattering at his feet. Vira’s eyes gleamed with satisfaction. “See? Not so hard. I like a man who listens. Makes things… interesting.”

Kael’s mind was a whirlwind of confusion and embarrassment. “I’m not—I mean, I’m just a kid, I’m not really a—”

“Oh, hush,” she interrupted, waving a hand dismissively. “You’re old enough to wander into trouble, which means you’re old enough to deal with the consequences. And trust me, little lamb, I’m a whole lot of trouble.” She circled him slowly, her boots crunching against the forest floor, her gaze never leaving him. He felt like prey, pinned under the weight of her attention, and yet there was something in her teasing tone that made his stomach flip in a way he didn’t quite understand.

“W-what do you want with me?” he finally managed to ask, his voice barely above a whisper.

Vira stopped in front of him, her height forcing him to crane his neck just to meet her eyes. She tilted her head, studying him like a cat might study a particularly intriguing mouse. “Oh, I haven’t decided yet,” she mused, tapping a finger against her lips. “Maybe I’ll keep you as a pet. Teach you a few tricks. Or maybe I’ll just… play with you until I get bored.” Her smile turned sharp, a glint of something darker flickering in her expression. “Either way, you’re not going anywhere until I say so. Understood?”

Kael nodded again, his throat too tight to form words. He wasn’t sure if she was joking or if he’d stumbled into something far more dangerous than he could comprehend. All he knew was that Vira’s presence was a force of nature—wild, untamed, and utterly in control. And as her gaze held him captive, a small, treacherous part of him wondered just what kind of game she intended to play.
