The late afternoon sun poured through the wide windows of Steven Universe’s beach house, bathing the cozy living room in a warm, golden glow. The sound of waves crashing against the shore drifted in through the cracked window, a soothing backdrop to Steven’s current state of smug satisfaction. Sprawled across the couch, one leg dangling lazily over the armrest, he scrolled through his phone with a goofy grin plastered on his face. Beside him sat a small notebook, open to a page where he’d meticulously tallied the first week of No Nut November, each day marked with a little star drawn in glitter pen. Seven stars. Seven days of ironclad willpower. He was practically glowing with pride.
“Man, I’m killing this,” he muttered to himself, tapping the notebook with a triumphant finger. “One week down, three to go. I’m basically a monk at this point. A *sexy* monk.”
The front door suddenly burst open with a dramatic thud, the sound ricocheting through the quiet room. Steven jolted upright, nearly dropping his phone, as a whirlwind of purple energy stormed in. Amethyst, the chaotic gem with a penchant for trouble, stood in the doorway, one hand on her hip, the other lazily twirling a strand of her wild, lavender hair. Her tight tank top clung to her curves like a second skin, and her ripped shorts barely covered the essentials, showing off the glint of her purple skin in the sunlight. Her mischievous grin was wide enough to split her face, and her eyes sparkled with the kind of trouble that could derail a saint.
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t Steven *Universe,*” she drawled, kicking the door shut behind her with a careless flick of her boot. “What’s this I hear about you playin’ hard to get with yourself? Some kinda no-nut nonsense?”
Steven’s cheeks flushed a faint pink as he scrambled to sit up straighter, shoving the notebook under a cushion like it was contraband. “Uh, hey, Amethyst! It’s, um, it’s just a challenge. You know, for discipline. Willpower. Self-control. That kinda stuff.”
Amethyst sauntered over, her hips swaying with deliberate intent, and plopped herself down on the armrest of the couch, right next to him. She leaned in close—too close—her face hovering just inches from his as she snatched the notebook out from under the cushion with a swift, practiced move.
“Oh, look at this!” she cackled, flipping through the pages and holding it up like a trophy. “Little stars for every day you don’t give in. How cute. What’s next, Stevie? Gonna build a shrine to your own chastity?”
“Gimme that!” Steven lunged for the notebook, but Amethyst yanked it out of reach, her laughter sharp and taunting.
“Nuh-uh, not so fast, monk boy,” she teased, dangling the notebook just above his head. “I’m keepin’ this as evidence of your adorable little meltdown when I break you. ‘Cause let’s be real, this whole ‘No Nut November’ thing? It’s got a big fat expiration date, and I’m stampin’ it.”
Steven groaned, rubbing the back of his neck as he tried to ignore the heat creeping up his face. “Amethyst, come on. It’s just a fun challenge. I’m not gonna crack. I’ve got this in the bag.”
“Oh, do ya now?” She arched a brow, her voice dipping into a low, sultry purr as she leaned even closer, her breath brushing against his ear. “’Cause from where I’m sittin’, you look like a guy who’s one wrong move away from losin’ it. And I’m *real* good at makin’ wrong moves, sugar.”
Steven swallowed hard, his hands gripping the edge of the couch as he tried to maintain some semblance of composure. “I-I’m fine. Totally fine. You’re not gonna get to me.”
Amethyst smirked, her eyes glinting with wicked delight as she shifted her position, swinging one leg over the armrest so she was practically straddling it, her body angled toward him. “Oh, Stevie, you sweet, naive little thing. You think you can resist me? Me, of all people? I’m chaos in a cute package, baby. I don’t play fair, and I *always* get what I want.”
“What do you even want?” Steven squeaked, his voice cracking under the pressure of her unrelenting gaze. He shifted uncomfortably, trying to put some space between them, but Amethyst wasn’t having it. She leaned forward, her hands bracing on either side of him, caging him in against the couch.
“What do I want?” she repeated, her tone dripping with mock innocence. “Oh, that’s easy. I wanna see that pretty little face of yours turn bright red when you realize you can’t keep up this silly game. I wanna watch you squirm, Steven. And trust me, I’m gonna enjoy every second of it.”
Steven’s breath hitched, his heart pounding in his chest as her words wrapped around him like a velvet noose. “You’re… you’re evil,” he managed to stammer, though the accusation lacked any real bite.
“Damn right I am,” Amethyst shot back with a grin, her voice low and commanding. “And you love it. Don’t even try to pretend otherwise. I can see it in those big, doe eyes of yours. You’re already halfway to givin’ in, and I haven’t even started yet.”
She moved faster than he could react, her hands shooting out to grab his wrists as she pushed him back against the couch, pinning him down with surprising strength. Her body hovered over his, her purple skin shimmering in the golden light, and her smirk was nothing short of predatory. Steven’s protests died in his throat as he stared up at her, wide-eyed and utterly flustered.
“Amethyst, w-what are you doing?” he sputtered, his voice barely above a whisper.
“What am I doin’?” she echoed, her tone laced with wicked amusement as she tightened her grip on his wrists. “I’m makin’ a promise, Stevie. Before this month is out, I’m gonna make you crack. I’m gonna shatter that precious little resolve of yours into a million tiny pieces, and you’re gonna thank me for it. So buckle up, ‘cause the Purple Temptress is just gettin’ started.”
She released him just as abruptly as she’d pinned him, hopping off the couch with a cackle and tossing his notebook onto his lap. Steven sat there, breathless and dazed, his mind a chaotic whirlwind of embarrassment and something dangerously close to temptation. As Amethyst strutted toward the door, throwing him one last teasing wink over her shoulder, he couldn’t help but wonder if his willpower stood a chance against her.
Seven stars. Seven days. And already, he was questioning everything.
