Awakening Desires: The Forbidden Love of Hephaestus and the Slumbering Scarlet

The Abandoned Goddess

Chapter One

The abandoned part of Olympus was not a place one often found themselves in, and Hephaestus was no exception. His dark eyes scanned the desolate landscape, his tan skin glistening with sweat from his earlier argument with Zeus. His dark brown hair was disheveled, adding to his already disgruntled appearance.

As he stormed through the forsaken territory, Hephaestus stumbled upon a makeshift shelter. It was crude, but it served its purpose. His heart raced as he approached, his mind filled with worry. He had not seen his albino sister, Scarlet, in weeks, and he feared the worst.

As he drew closer, his fears were confirmed. Lying motionless on the ground was the figure of Scarlet, her pale skin and white hair a stark contrast to the dark surroundings. Her leg was twisted at an unnatural angle, a bone protruding from her knee.

Hephaestus cursed under his breath, recalling the security footage that showed Zeus breaking her leg and placing a curse on her. He gently lifted her frail body, cradling her in his arms. He whispered soothing words, trying to rouse her from her curse-induced sleep.

Scarlet stirred slightly, her red eyes fluttering open. She took in Hephaestus's concerned face and muttered, "What are you doing here, clumsy? I thought I could escape Zeus's wrath without your help."

Hephaestus couldn't help but chuckle, "Always the charmer, aren't you? I'm here to help you, whether you like it or not."

Scarlet tried to protest, but her weak voice gave out. Hephaestus shook his head, "You need medical attention, and I'm the only one who can provide it."

He started to carry Scarlet out of the abandoned part of Olympus. Scarlet groaned, "Put me down, I can walk."

Hephaestus raised an eyebrow, "With a broken leg? I think not."

---

Hephaestus laid Scarlet down on a makeshift bed in his workshop. He carefully examined her leg, muttering to himself as he worked. Scarlet watched him with a mixture of amusement and annoyance, "You're not going to make it worse, are you?"

Hephaestus shot her a glare, "I'm the god of fire and metalworking, not a bumbling fool."

Scarlet couldn't help but laugh, "You're right, you're just a grumpy god."

Hephaestus rolled his eyes, "And you're a stubborn goddess."

He began to mend Scarlet's leg, using his godly powers to heal her wound. Scarlet winced in pain, "I thought you said it wouldn't hurt."

Hephaestus gave her a sheepish grin, "I may have exaggerated a bit."

Scarlet shook her head, "Of course you did."

Hephaestus finished healing Scarlet's leg, "There, all better."

Scarlet tried to sit up, but her weak muscles betrayed her. Hephaestus caught her, "Easy there, you've been asleep for a while."

Scarlet blushed, "Right, sorry."

Hephaestus helped Scarlet to her feet, "You should rest some more."

---

Hephaestus led Scarlet to his bedroom, where he had prepared a comfortable bed for her. Scarlet protested, "I can't stay here, Zeus will find me."

Hephaestus shakes his head, "You're safe here. I won't let anyone hurt you."

Scarlet looks at him with a mixture of gratitude and suspicion, "Why are you helping me?"

Hephaestus sighs, "Because you're my sister, and you deserve better than what Zeus has given you."

Scarlet nods, "Thank you."

Hephaestus tucks her in, "Get some rest. I'll be here if you need anything."

Scarlet closes her eyes, "I'm sorry I doubted you."

Hephaestus smiles, "It's okay. I'm used to it."

Scarlet falls asleep, a small smile on her face. Hephaestus watches her for a moment before leaving the room, a determined look on his face.

He mutters to himself, "Zeus, you've made a grave mistake."
