Jac sat on the couch, her eyes glued to the television as she flipped through the channels. The room was dimly lit, the only source of light coming from the flickering screen. She barely noticed when Happy entered the room, his footsteps muffled by the plush carpet.
He approached her, bending down to press a kiss to her cheek. But Jac turned her head away, her lips pursed in a tight line. Happy straightened up, his brow furrowed in confusion.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, his voice low and gentle.
Jac didn’t answer right away. She took a deep breath, her chest rising and falling with the effort. When she spoke, her voice was cold and clipped.
“I know what you did,” she said.
Happy’s heart skipped a beat. He tried to play dumb, but he could see the fire in Jac’s eyes. She wasn’t fooled.
“What are you talking about?” he asked, feigning ignorance.
Jac scoffed. “Don’t play games with me, Happy. I’m not one of your little groupies.”
Happy felt a pang of guilt. He had been on the road for weeks, and yes, he had indulged in a few…encounters. But it didn’t mean anything. It was just part of the lifestyle.
“It’s not what you think,” he said, reaching out to take Jac’s hand. But she pulled away, her fingers slipping through his like water.
“It’s not just physical, Happy,” Jac said, her voice shaking with anger. “It’s emotional too. You’re a man-whore, a cheating bastard. And I’m sick of it.”
Happy felt a knot form in his stomach. He knew he had been selfish, but he didn’t realize the extent of the damage he had caused.
“I’m sorry,” he said, his voice sincere. “I’ll change. I promise.”
Jac looked at him, her eyes narrowed. “I don’t believe you,” she said. “I’m tired of being the wife left behind. I deserve better.”
Happy felt helpless. He wanted to make it right, to erase the hurt he had caused. But he didn’t know how.
“What can I do?” he asked, his voice laced with desperation.
Jac looked at him for a long moment, her eyes unreadable. “Get me a vibrator,” she said finally, her voice low and sultry. “One that’s as big as your ego.”
Happy felt a jolt of surprise. He opened his mouth to protest, but Jac cut him off.
“You can’t satisfy me, Happy,” she said, her voice filled with laughter. “You never have been able to keep up with me.”
Happy felt a surge of anger. How dare she belittle him like that? But there was a hint of truth in her words. He had always struggled to keep up with Jac’s insatiable appetite.
“I can satisfy you,” he said, his voice filled with determination. “Let’s have a competition. See who can satisfy the other better.”
Jac raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure you’re up for the challenge?” she asked, her voice filled with amusement.
Happy nodded, his jaw set. “I’m sure.”
Jac stood up, a wicked glint in her eyes. “Alright then,” she said, her voice filled with challenge. “Let’s see what you’ve got.”
The competition began, with Jac taking the lead. She teased Happy with her playful insults and seductive moves, her body moving like a graceful dance. Happy tried to keep up, but Jac was always one step ahead.
As the night wore on, Jac felt a sense of satisfaction. She had always known that Happy couldn’t handle her, but it was nice to prove it. She smiled as Happy admitted defeat, his shoulders slumped in defeat.
“I love you, Jac,” he said, his voice filled with sincerity. “I’ll try to be a better husband.”
Jac felt a softening in her heart. She loved Happy too, but she needed him to prove himself.
“I love you too, Happy,” she said, her voice soft. “But you need to step up your game.”
Happy nodded, his eyes filled with determination. Jac smiled, her heart filled with hope. Maybe things would be different this time.
The night ended with Jac and Happy cuddling on the couch, their bodies entwined. Jac teased Happy about his “man-whore” ways, and Happy promised to be a better man for her.
As they drifted off to sleep, Jac felt a sense of contentment. She had taken control of the situation, and Happy had accepted his role as her supportive partner.
Maybe, just maybe, they could make it work.
