The sun beat down on Yuri and Dante as they lay on their towels, soaking up the warmth and enjoying each other's company. Yuri let out a content sigh, turning to Dante with a small smile. "I could get used to this," she said, her voice soft and lazy.
Dante grinned, reaching out to take Yuri's hand in his. "I could too," he replied, his thumb tracing lazy circles on the back of her hand.
Yuri sat up, brushing the sand off her legs as she stood. "I'm gonna go get a drink. You want anything?" she asked, looking down at Dante.
He shook his head, still lying on his back with his eyes closed. "Nah, I'm good. You go ahead."
Yuri nodded, turning to walk towards the kiosk. As she walked, she couldn't help but notice a young man watching her from a distance. She ignored him, focusing on getting her drink, but when she turned back around, he was walking towards her.
"Hey, beautiful," he said, a cocky smile on his face. "Can I buy you a drink?"
Yuri raised an eyebrow, her expression unimpressed. "No, thank you," she said, trying to sidestep him.
But the young man didn't take the hint, stepping in front of her and blocking her path. "Come on, don't be like that," he said, his smile never faltering. "I just want to get to know you."
Yuri's patience was wearing thin. She glared at the young man, her voice sharp. "I said no. Now, move."
The young man looked taken aback, but quickly recovered. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you," he said, holding up his hands in surrender. "You're just so beautiful, I couldn't help myself."
Yuri rolled her eyes, but couldn't help the small blush that crept up her cheeks at the compliment. "Thank you," she said, her voice softer. "But I'm here with someone. I can't sit with you."
The young man's face fell, but he quickly hid it with a smile. "Oh, I understand. But can I at least get your name?"
Yuri hesitated for a moment, but then nodded. "It's Yuri," she said, her voice cautious.
The young man's face lit up. "It's nice to meet you, Yuri. I'm Alex."
Yuri nodded again, taking a step back. "Nice to meet you too, Alex. But I really have to go now."
Alex looked disappointed, but nodded. "Okay, I'll let you go. But can I see you again?"
Yuri shook her head. "I don't think that's a good idea," she said, her voice firm. "I'm happy with who I'm with."
Alex looked like he was about to argue, but then seemed to think better of it. He smiled again, holding out his hand. "Well, it was nice meeting you, Yuri. Maybe we'll run into each other again."
Yuri hesitated for a moment, but then shook his hand. "Maybe," she said, her voice noncommittal. She turned and walked back to Dante, her heart racing.
Dante was still half-asleep when she sat down next to him, but he opened his eyes and smiled at her. "Everything okay?" he asked, his voice groggy.
Yuri nodded, lying back down on her towel. "Yeah, everything's fine," she said, her voice still shaky. "I just met someone, but I told him I wasn't interested."
Dante sat up, looking concerned. "Are you sure you're okay? Did he do something to you?"
Yuri shook her head, reaching out to take Dante's hand. "No, he didn't do anything. He was just flirting, but I handled it. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to worry you."
Dante relaxed, squeezing her hand. "It's okay. I just want to make sure you're safe."
Yuri smiled, feeling relieved and content. "I know. And I am. I'm so happy I have you. You're the only one I need."
Dante grinned, leaning in to kiss her. "And you're the only one I need too, Yuri."
They laid back down on their towels, holding hands and enjoying each other's company. Yuri couldn't help but feel grateful for Dante, and for the strong, controlling woman she had become. She knew she could handle anything that came her way, as long as she had Dante by her side.
