Beastly Desires: Taming the Cat and Wolf at Academy

### Chapter One: Claws and Crushes

The Grand Hall of Beastkin Academy loomed before Alex like a feral beast itself, its ancient stone walls etched with snarling carvings of creatures he couldn’t even name. Torches flickered in the dim light, casting wild shadows across the sprawling structure, while bursts of magical energy crackled sporadically in the air, illuminating students with tails, fangs, and claws milling about like they owned the place. Alex, an eighteen-year-old human with no fur or scales to speak of, stumbled through the massive iron gates, his backpack slipping off his shoulder as his jaw dropped. This wasn’t just a school—it was a damn jungle.

“Lost already, fresh meat?” A sharp, mocking voice sliced through his daze, and Alex turned to see a sleek, black-haired catgirl sauntering toward him. Her piercing green eyes glinted with amusement, and her tail flicked lazily behind her as if she were already bored with his existence. She was all sharp angles and predatory grace, her tight leather vest and shorts leaving little to the imagination. “What’s the matter, kitten? Never seen a real beast before?”

Alex blinked, his cheeks heating up as he scrambled for a response. “I, uh, I’m just… taking it all in. This place is… wild.”

“Wild?” She laughed, a low, throaty sound that sent a shiver down his spine. “Oh, you sweet little snack, you have no idea. I’m Nyx, by the way. And you’re gonna get eaten alive before the first class even starts if you keep gawking like that.” She stepped closer, her tail brushing against his leg as she purred, “Unless, of course, I decide to take a bite first.”

He swallowed hard, his attempt at a comeback pitiful at best. “I’m not… I mean, I can handle myself. You’re not that scary.”

Nyx’s eyes narrowed, a wicked grin spreading across her face. “Not that scary, huh? Oh, you’re adorable. Come on, fresh meat. Let’s see if you can keep up.” Before he could protest, she grabbed his arm with a grip that was surprisingly firm for someone so lithe, dragging him through the Grand Hall toward a crowded courtyard. Her touch was electric, and Alex couldn’t decide if he was more terrified or thrilled.

As they weaved through the throng of snarling, laughing students, Alex’s eyes caught on a figure in the center of the courtyard. A muscular, black-haired wolfgirl with an untamed aura was pinning another student to the ground in what looked like a wrestling match. Her abs flexed under a tight tank top, sweat glistening on her skin as she let out a triumphant growl. She was raw power personified, and Alex couldn’t tear his eyes away.

“Caught your eye, did she?” Nyx’s voice was a teasing whisper in his ear, her breath warm against his skin. “That’s Luna. She’s all bark and bite. Careful, though—she might just chew you up and spit you out.”

Before Alex could respond, Luna’s sharp gaze locked onto his. She wiped the sweat from her brow with a predatory grin, standing up and striding over with a confidence that made his knees weak. Towering over him, her presence was suffocating in the best way possible. Her voice came out low and growly, like a warning wrapped in velvet. “What’s this? A scrawny pup wandering into my territory? You think you’re tough enough for Beastkin Academy, or do I need to break you in myself?”

Alex’s mouth went dry, his words tripping over themselves. “I, uh, I’m just… new. I’m Alex. I can keep up. I think.”

Luna laughed, a deep, rumbling sound that vibrated through him. “You think? Oh, pup, you’re gonna have to do better than that. Stick with me, and I’ll make sure you don’t get torn apart on day one. But you’d better keep up—I don’t carry dead weight.”

Nyx smirked, leaning in close to Alex and whispering, “Told you. Her bark’s just as bad as her bite. Better watch your tail around her, fresh meat.”

Luna’s ears twitched, and she shot Nyx a glare that could’ve melted steel. “Keep talking, kitty. Last I checked, you’re the one who can’t stop chasing her own tail. Or are you just jealous I got to the pup first?”

Nyx’s tail flicked irritably, but her grin was all sharp edges. “Jealous? Please, wolf. I’m just waiting for you to bore him with all your growling. Some of us know how to play with our food before we eat it.”

Luna stepped closer to Nyx, their faces inches apart, the air crackling with tension. “Play all you want, cat. I don’t mess around. When I want something, I take it.”

Alex, caught between the two, felt his heart hammering in his chest. Their intensity was overwhelming, and the way they were sizing him up—like he was a toy to be fought over—sent a confusing mix of fear and attraction coursing through him. “Uh, guys? I’m… right here?”

Nyx’s gaze flicked to him, her smile turning mischievous. “Oh, we know, kitten. And since you’re so eager to ‘keep up,’ how about we skip the boring orientation nonsense? I’ve got a special spot on campus I think you’ll love.”

Luna’s eyes glinted with something primal, and she slung a heavy arm around Alex’s shoulder, her strength making it clear he wasn’t going anywhere else. “Sounds like a plan, kitty. Let’s see if the pup can handle a real tour. You in, Alex, or are you gonna whimper and run?”

Alex’s voice cracked as he answered, “I’m… I’m in. Let’s do it.”

The trio headed toward a secluded part of the academy grounds, the air thick with tension and the promise of something wild. As they walked, Nyx and Luna kept up their banter, each trying to outdo the other with crude jokes and innuendos that made Alex’s face burn.

“So, pup,” Luna started, her arm still draped over him, “you ever been hunted before? ‘Cause I’ve got a real good nose for tracking down… easy prey.”

Nyx snickered, her tail brushing against Alex’s side again. “Oh, leave him alone, wolf. He’s already trembling. Let’s at least get him to the spot before we start sharpening our claws. Unless you’re too impatient to wait for a proper chase?”

Luna growled playfully, her grip on Alex tightening just enough to make him stumble. “Patience is for cats who can’t catch their dinner. What do you say, pup? You wanna be my next meal, or are you gonna make me work for it?”

Alex stammered, his mind racing as fast as his heart. “I, uh, I’m not… dinner? I mean, I can run. Or… not run. Whatever you want.”

Nyx laughed, her green eyes sparkling with wicked delight. “Oh, fresh meat, you’re too easy. Stick with us, and we’ll teach you how to play the game. But fair warning—neither of us plays nice.”

As they disappeared into the shadowy edges of the campus, Alex couldn’t shake the feeling that he was in way over his head. But with Nyx’s teasing purrs and Luna’s commanding growls echoing in his ears, he realized he didn’t care. Whatever wild ride awaited him at Beastkin Academy, he was already loving every second of it.
