Mark Jason sat behind his mahogany desk, a smug smile playing on his lips as he perused John Malory's resume. He chuckled to himself, "A college graduate, huh? Let's see if you're tough enough for this job."
Just then, the door swung open, and in walked John, his heart pounding in his chest. He tried to conceal his nerves, but his voice gave him away as he greeted Mark, "Good morning, Mr. Jason."
Mark stood up, his towering figure casting a shadow over John's skinny frame. He took his time, examining John from head to toe, a sneer spreading across his face. "You're hired," he said, his voice oozing with sarcasm.
John couldn't hide his relief, but Mark saw right through him. "Don't think this job is going to be easy, Malory. You're going to have to prove yourself."
Mark began to belittle John, making fun of his scrawny arms and lack of muscles. John tried to defend himself, but Mark's words cut through him like a knife. "I'll tell you what, Malory. I'll give you a chance to prove yourself. But you're going to have to do everything I say."
John hesitated, but Mark's cold, calculating gaze left him with no choice. He nodded, agreeing to Mark's terms.
Mark stood up, his massive frame looming over John. "Good. Now, go get me a cup of coffee, and make it fast."
John scurried to the break room, his heart racing as he prepared the coffee. He couldn't help but feel weak and inferior compared to Mark.
Mark entered the break room, his booming laughter echoing through the small space. "Hurry up, Malory. I don't have all day."
John jumped, spilling some of the coffee on himself. Mark chuckled, "Looks like you need a lesson in multitasking."
Mark grabbed John's arm, squeezing it hard. "You're going to have to toughen up if you want to work here, Malory."
John winced in pain, but Mark's grip only tightened. "Yes, Mr. Jason," John whimpered.
Mark released John's arm, a smug smile on his face. "Good boy. Now, go back to your desk and get to work."
John scurried back to his desk, his heart racing. He couldn't help but feel like he was already defeated, but he knew he had to keep trying.
As he sat down, he couldn't help but feel a sense of frustration and anger building up inside of him. He was not going to let Mark walk all over him. He decided to take a stand.
John took a deep breath and marched back into Mark's office. "Mr. Jason, I deserve some respect. I may not be as muscular as you, but I am just as capable of doing this job."
Mark raised an eyebrow, surprised by John's sudden outburst. "Is that so, Malory? Well, let's see what you've got."
John stood tall, ready to prove himself. He was not going to back down, not anymore. He was determined to show Mark that he was just as strong and capable as anyone else.
And with that, the game was on. John was ready to take on any challenge that Mark threw his way, and he was determined to come out on top.
The tension between them was palpable, but John couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement. He was ready to prove himself, and he was ready to take on whatever came his way.
The interview may have started off on the wrong foot, but John was determined to turn it around. He was not going to let Mark intimidate him, not anymore. He was ready to take control and show Mark what he was made of.
The game was on, and John was ready to play.
