The office was usually bustling with activity, but at this time of night, it was eerily quiet. The only sounds were the soft clacking of Kay's and Rod's fingers as they typed away on their keyboards, putting the finishing touches on a project that had been consuming their lives for the past few weeks.
Kay stood up and stretched, her back popping as she arched her spine. "I'm going to freshen up in the bathroom," she announced, her voice echoing through the empty room.
