Nikki's Jewelry Shop was usually bustling with customers, but tonight it was just Nikki, finishing up some paperwork. The back door creaked open, and in walked Lexi, fresh from a workout.
"Hey Mom, what are you still doing here?" Lexi asked, as she plopped down on the plush carpet of the shop.
Nikki looked up from her paperwork and smiled. "Just finishing up some things. How was your workout?"
Lexi stretched her arms and legs. "It was great. I feel so alive."
Just then, the back door creaked open again, and a robber entered, holding a duffel bag. He apologized for the intrusion and explained that he thought the shop would be empty.
Nikki, being the fiery woman she is, immediately confronted the robber. "What do you want?" she demanded.
The robber, being witty and apologetic, explained that he was just there to rob the place. Nikki struggled against the ropes as the robber tied her up, making her lay face down on the plush carpet of the shop. He took his time, making sure the knots were tight.
Lexi watched in shock as her mother was tied up, but the robber assured her that she would be next. He took his time with Lexi, making her lay face down on the carpet and ties her up in the same way as Nikki.
