Bound by Madness: A Hospital Haunting

### Chapter One: Bound by Cold Steel

The air in the abandoned hospital ward was thick with the scent of decay and rust, a chilling draft snaking through the shattered windows and licking at Lila’s bare skin. The flickering fluorescent lights overhead buzzed like dying insects, casting eerie shadows across the decrepit room. Rusted medical equipment lay scattered like the bones of some forgotten beast, and in the center of it all, Lila lay strapped to a cold, metallic examination table. Her wrists and ankles were bound by leather cuffs, the steel beneath her biting into her flesh with an icy cruelty. Naked, vulnerable, her skin prickled with goosebumps, her breath forming faint clouds in the frigid air.

Yet, despite the vulnerability of her position, Lila’s emerald eyes blazed with defiance. Her raven-black hair splayed across the table like spilled ink, and her lips curled into a smirk as she glared at the figure looming over her. The entity—faceless, genderless, clad in a skintight black latex suit that gleamed like wet obsidian—stood silent, a surgical tray of cold, clinical tools glinting in their gloved hands. The mask covering their face revealed nothing, not even the flicker of eyes, but their presence was heavy, suffocating, a silent storm of control.

“Well, aren’t you just the picture of hospitality,” Lila drawled, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she tugged at her restraints, the leather creaking. “I mean, really, tying a girl up in a freezer like this? If you wanted a date, all you had to do was ask. I’m not saying I’d say yes, but I’d at least consider it over… whatever this gothic BDSM fever dream is.”

The entity didn’t respond, didn’t even flinch. Instead, they picked up a small, stainless steel speculum from the tray, the metal catching the flickering light as they turned it over in their gloved fingers. The silence was deafening, a void that seemed to mock Lila’s bravado.

“Oh, come on, don’t be shy,” she pressed, her tone biting as she arched an eyebrow. “What’s with the silent treatment? Afraid I’ll outwit you? Or are you just too busy plotting how to make this creepier? Spoiler alert: you’ve already nailed it.”

The entity tilted their head slightly, the only sign they’d even heard her. Then, with a deliberate slowness that sent a shiver down Lila’s spine—part fear, part something darker—they stepped closer. The latex of their suit creaked softly as they leaned over her, the cold edge of the speculum brushing against the inside of her thigh. The contact was fleeting, clinical, but it was enough to make her breath hitch, her body betraying her with a rush of heat that clashed with the icy table beneath her.

“Seriously?” Lila snapped, her voice sharp even as her hips twitched involuntarily. “You’re gonna play doctor with me in a place that looks like it’s been condemned since the Black Plague? I’ve had hotter foreplay in a dentist’s office.”

The entity paused, the speculum hovering just above her skin, and for a moment, Lila thought she’d gotten under their skin—or whatever passed for skin under that suit. But then, with a maddening precision, they dragged the cold metal along her inner thigh, not hard enough to hurt, just enough to tease. The sensation was electric, a cruel contrast to the numbness of the steel table, and Lila bit her lip to stifle a gasp.

“Fine, keep up the mute act,” she hissed, her voice laced with frustration and something dangerously close to desire. “But let’s get one thing straight—I’m not some damsel who’s gonna whimper and beg. You want to play games? I’ll play. But I play to win, creep. So, what’s next? Gonna measure my temperature with that thing, or are you just gonna keep teasing me until I freeze to death?”

The entity’s head tilted again, almost as if amused, though no sound escaped them. They set the speculum back on the tray with a soft clink, their gloved fingers now tracing the edge of a long, thin probe—polished steel, cold as death itself. They held it up, letting the dim light dance along its length, as if giving her a moment to appreciate the threat—or promise—of it.

Lila’s smirk faltered for half a second before she forced it back into place, her chest rising and falling a little faster now. “Oh, look at you, showing off your toys. What’s that supposed to be, a magic wand? Hate to break it to you, but I’m not exactly the fairy-tale type. Unless you’re planning to wave that thing and make me disappear, in which case, be my guest.”

Instead of responding, the entity pressed the tip of the probe against her collarbone, the icy metal sending a jolt through her. They dragged it down slowly, tracing the curve of her chest, circling just close enough to her nipple to make her squirm without ever touching it. The torment was deliberate, calculated, and Lila hated how it made her body respond, heat pooling in her core even as she gritted her teeth.

“You’re a real bastard, you know that?” she growled, her voice husky despite herself. “If you’re trying to get me to crack, you’re gonna have to try harder than that. I’ve had colder shoulders on first dates. Hell, I’ve had colder coffee. So, what’s the plan? Keep me shivering until I’m too numb to fight, or are you just enjoying the view?”

The entity’s hand paused, the probe hovering just above her navel, and for the first time, Lila felt a flicker of uncertainty. Not fear, not quite, but a realization that this wasn’t just a game of taunts and teasing. There was a purpose here, a silent intent that she couldn’t read, and it made her pulse race in a way that wasn’t entirely unpleasant.

“Alright, fine, keep your secrets,” she said, her tone softer now but still edged with defiance. “But let me tell you something, mystery freak. You might have me tied down, but you don’t have me. Not yet. So go ahead, play your little mind games, poke and prod all you want. I’m not breaking. And when I get out of these straps—and I will—I’m gonna make you wish you’d picked a less mouthy victim.”

The entity straightened, setting the probe aside with a deliberate slowness that felt like a challenge. They stepped back, their latex-clad form a dark silhouette against the flickering light, and for a moment, Lila thought she saw the faintest tremor in their posture—amusement, perhaps, or anticipation. Then they turned to the tray again, selecting a new instrument, something small and sharp that glinted with menace.

Lila’s smirk returned, though her heart was pounding now, a mix of adrenaline and something hotter, more dangerous. “Oh, goodie, round two,” she purred, her voice dripping with mock sweetness. “Let’s see if you’ve got anything in that creepy little toolkit that can actually impress me. I’m waiting, doc. Don’t keep a girl in suspense.”

The entity stepped forward again, and as the cold steel of the new tool brushed against her skin, Lila’s bravado wavered, just for a moment. But she clung to it like a lifeline, her sharp tongue and fiery spirit her only weapons in this strange, chilling game. Whatever this entity wanted, she wasn’t going down without a fight—or without making them work for every inch of her surrender.

The tension in the room thickened, a charged silence broken only by the buzz of the dying lights and the faint creak of leather as Lila tugged at her restraints. This was only the beginning, and she knew it. But if they thought they could break her with cold steel and colder silence, they had no idea who they were dealing with.
