Chapter 1: Tension in the Air
The locker room smelled of sweat and determination, the lingering energy of a brutal hockey practice still hanging heavy. Most of the team had already showered and headed out, their laughter echoing down the hall, but Jake, the team’s star forward, sat on the bench, head in his hands, shoulders tight as a coiled spring. Captain Ryan, a broad-shouldered beast of a man with a jawline that could cut glass, watched him from across the room, his piercing blue eyes narrowing with concern. He’d seen Jake like this before—too wired, too hard on himself—but tonight, it was different. Dangerous.
'Hey, Jake,' Ryan called, his voice a low rumble as he strode over, towel slung over his shoulder. 'C’mere a sec. Sit with me.'
Jake’s head snapped up, his hazel eyes clouded with something unspoken. 'I’m fine, Cap. Just tired.'
'Bullshit,' Ryan shot back, a smirk tugging at his lips as he dropped onto the bench and patted his thigh. 'Get over here. Now.'
Jake hesitated, his jaw clenching, but he obeyed, dragging himself over and perching awkwardly on Ryan’s lap like a kid who’d been caught misbehaving. Ryan’s hands settled on Jake’s hips, firm but not forceful, grounding him. 'Talk to me, man. What’s eating you? And don’t give me that ‘I’m fine’ crap again.'
'I’m fine,' Jake muttered, staring at the tiled floor, his voice barely above a whisper. His body was rigid, every muscle screaming tension.
Ryan sighed, exchanging a glance with Assistant Captain Nate, who’d lingered by the lockers, his lean, tattooed frame leaning casually against the metal. Nate raised an eyebrow, a silent question. Ryan nodded subtly, and Nate sauntered over, his grin sharp and knowing.
'Kid’s wound tighter than a drum,' Nate drawled, crouching in front of Jake, his dark eyes glinting with mischief. 'You gonna let us help you, or we gotta force it outta you?'
Jake’s face flushed a deep crimson, his breath hitching. 'I don’t need—'
'Shut it,' Ryan interrupted, his tone cutting like a blade, though his hands were gentle as they slid down Jake’s thighs. 'You’re not getting outta this locker room ‘til you let go of whatever’s got you so damn twisted up. Nate, help me out here.'
Nate chuckled, his fingers deftly working at Jake’s practice pants, tugging them down just enough to expose the tight jockstrap beneath. Jake squirmed, his embarrassment palpable, but Ryan held him steady, murmuring, 'Easy, man. We’re not stripping you bare. Not yet. Just breathe.'
'This is messed up,' Jake stammered, his voice cracking as Nate’s hands lingered near his hips, distracting him with teasing touches. 'You guys don’t have to—'
'Oh, we want to,' Nate purred, his grin wicked as he leaned in close, his breath hot against Jake’s ear. 'You’re too pretty to be this stressed, Jakey. Let us take care of you.'
Ryan adjusted Jake’s position, spreading his legs slightly over his lap, his fingers slipping beneath the edge of the jockstrap with a practiced ease. Jake tensed, a small gasp escaping him, but Ryan’s voice was a soothing growl. 'Relax, kid. I’ve got you. Just focus on Nate’s stupid face, huh?'
Nate snorted, rolling his eyes. 'Real charming, Cap. But yeah, Jake, look at me. Tell me I’m not the hottest bastard you’ve ever seen.'
Jake’s lips twitched despite himself, a flicker of amusement breaking through the haze of nerves as Ryan’s fingers found their mark, probing with a deliberate slowness that made Jake’s breath catch hard. The air grew thick, charged with unspoken heat, the promise of release dangling just out of reach as Ryan’s touch grew bolder, searching for that sweet spot that would unravel Jake completely.
And as Jake’s body began to tremble, the tension melting into something raw and desperate, Ryan and Nate exchanged a look that said they weren’t stopping until every last wall came crashing down.
