Nick, a fourteen-year-old boy, was sprawled out on the couch, his eyes heavy as he tried to stay awake through a documentary on the mating habits of some obscure insect. The droning of the narrator's voice was lulling him into a stupor when he was abruptly jolted awake by the sound of the front door opening and slamming shut.

"Mommy said you could give me a bath tonight!" Kaylee announced, her eyes shining with excitement.
Nick's heart sank. He had been hoping to avoid this chore, but he couldn't bring himself to disappoint Kaylee. "Sure thing, kiddo," he said, forcing a smile. "Let's go get you ready."
As they made their way to the bathroom, Kaylee chatted away about her day, completely oblivious to the devious thoughts running through Nick's mind.
