Chapter 1: Sparks in the Air
Parker leaned against the weathered wooden railing of the old pier, the salty ocean breeze tousling his dark hair as he shot a sidelong glance at Liam. The sun was dipping low, painting the sky in fiery hues of orange and pink, a perfect backdrop for the tension simmering just beneath their easy banter. They’d spent the afternoon tossing a frisbee on the beach, laughing over missed catches and shared beers, but now, as the crowd thinned and the world quieted, something unspoken crackled between them.
‘So, you gonna finally admit I’m the frisbee king, or do I have to school you again tomorrow?’ Liam teased, his voice a low, playful drawl. He leaned closer, his broad shoulder brushing Parker’s, the heat of his skin a stark contrast to the cool evening air. His green eyes glinted with mischief, but there was something else there too—something hungry.
Parker smirked, turning to face him fully, his own hazel eyes narrowing with a challenge. ‘Dream on, man. I let you win today. Didn’t wanna bruise that fragile ego of yours.’ He poked Liam’s chest, his finger lingering just a second too long, feeling the hard muscle beneath the thin t-shirt. His pulse quickened, but he played it cool, tilting his head with a cocky grin. ‘Besides, I’ve got moves you haven’t even seen yet.’
Liam’s laugh was a deep rumble, and he stepped even closer, their faces now inches apart. ‘Oh, I bet you do, Park. Question is, you gonna show me, or just keep talking a big game?’ His voice dropped, rough and suggestive, sending a shiver down Parker’s spine. The air between them felt charged, electric, like the moment before a storm breaks.
Parker’s breath hitched, but he didn’t back down. He never did with Liam. ‘Careful what you wish for, Liam. I don’t play nice when I’m provoked.’ His words were sharp, laced with a daring edge, and he could see the effect they had—Liam’s jaw tightened, his gaze darkening with something primal.
‘Provoke me, then,’ Liam shot back, his hand brushing against Parker’s hip, a deliberate, slow graze that set Parker’s nerves on fire. ‘I’ve been waiting for you to stop dancing around this and just—’
‘Just what?’ Parker interrupted, his voice low and taunting, stepping into Liam’s space until their chests nearly touched. He could feel the heat radiating off Liam, could smell the faint musk of sweat and sea salt on his skin. His heart pounded, but he held his ground, his lips curling into a wicked smile. ‘Say it, Liam. Or are you all talk?’
Liam’s grin was feral now, and without another word, he gripped Parker’s waist, pulling him flush against his body. The sudden contact made Parker gasp, feeling the hard lines of Liam’s frame pressed against him, undeniable evidence of just how much Liam wanted this. ‘You wanna hear it?’ Liam growled, his lips brushing Parker’s ear. ‘I’m done playing. I want you, Park. Right fucking now.’
Parker’s hands slid up Liam’s chest, fingers curling into his shirt as he tilted his head back, meeting Liam’s heated stare with one of his own. ‘Then stop wasting time,’ he challenged, his voice dripping with confidence. ‘Show me what you’ve got.’
They crashed together, lips hungry and desperate, the taste of salt and beer mingling as their kiss deepened. Liam’s hands roamed, gripping Parker’s ass with a possessive edge, while Parker’s fingers tangled in Liam’s hair, pulling just hard enough to elicit a low groan. The pier was deserted now, but the thrill of being out in the open only fueled their urgency. Parker could feel Liam’s cock, hard and insistent against his thigh, and it sent a rush of heat straight to his core. He was already aching, horny as hell, and the thought of what was coming next had him damn near panting.
Liam broke the kiss, his breath hot against Parker’s neck as he murmured, ‘We’re not stopping here. I’m gonna take you apart, Park. You ready for that?’
Parker’s laugh was breathless, but his eyes burned with defiance. ‘Bring it on, Liam. I don’t break easy.’
