Burning Temptation

Burning Temptation

Chapter 1: Sparks in the Shadows

The dimly lit bar on the edge of town was a haven for secrets, and Alla knew it well. She sat at the counter, her long legs crossed, a crimson dress hugging her curves like a lover’s greedy hands. Her dark hair cascaded over one shoulder, and her sharp green eyes scanned the room with the precision of a predator. She wasn’t here for cheap drinks or idle chatter—she was here for him.

Ed swaggered in, all leather jacket and dangerous smirks, his presence filling the room like smoke. He spotted her instantly, and a slow, wicked grin spread across his face. He slid onto the stool beside her, his thigh brushing hers just enough to send a jolt through her body.

“Fancy meeting you here, Alla,” he drawled, his voice low and rough, like gravel under tires. “Thought you’d be too busy running the world to slum it with the likes of me.”

She turned her head, her lips curling into a smirk as sharp as a blade. “And I thought you’d be too busy chasing tail to notice a real woman when she’s sitting right in front of you.”

Ed chuckled, leaning in closer, the scent of whiskey and leather wrapping around her. “Oh, I notice. Hard not to when you’re looking like sin itself. What’s your game tonight, sweetheart?”

Alla’s eyes glinted with mischief as she sipped her drink, letting the silence hang heavy between them. “Maybe I’m just here to see if you’re all talk, Ed. Or maybe I’m here to take what I want.”

His gaze darkened, pupils dilating with raw hunger. “Careful now. You keep talking like that, and I might just give you more than you can handle.”

She laughed, a throaty sound that sent heat pooling in his gut. “Try me, big shot. I don’t break easy.”

The air between them crackled, charged with unspoken promises. Alla uncrossed her legs, letting her dress ride up just enough to tease, and Ed’s jaw tightened. He reached out, his rough fingers brushing against her thigh, testing her resolve. She didn’t flinch—instead, she leaned into his touch, her voice dropping to a sultry whisper.

“Tick tock, Ed. You gonna make a move, or am I gonna have to drag you out of here myself?”

His grin was feral now, all teeth and intent. “Oh, I’m moving, darling. Just waiting for you to say the word.”

Alla stood, her body brushing against his as she rose, her breath hot against his ear. “Word.”

That was all it took. Ed was on his feet in an instant, his hand firm on her waist as they pushed through the crowd, the pulse of the bar fading behind them. They stumbled into the alley outside, the cool night air a sharp contrast to the heat building between them. He pinned her against the brick wall, his body hard against hers, and she gasped—not out of fear, but out of sheer, unbridled want.

“You’re trouble, Alla,” he growled, his lips hovering over hers, so close she could taste the whiskey on his breath.

“And you’re about to find out just how much,” she shot back, her hands sliding under his jacket, nails digging into his skin as she pulled him closer. Their mouths crashed together, a collision of need and defiance, tongues battling for dominance as the world around them blurred into nothing.

Her fingers worked at his belt, deft and impatient, while his hands roamed her body, gripping her ass with a possessiveness that made her moan into his mouth. She could feel him, hard and ready against her, and it sent a thrill through her, making her wet with anticipation. Their breaths came in sharp, panting bursts, the alley echoing with the raw sound of their hunger.

“Fuck, Alla,” he rasped, his voice thick with lust. “You’re gonna be the death of me.”

She grinned against his lips, her hand slipping lower, teasing. “Not before I make you beg for it.”

And as the night swallowed them whole, they both knew there was no turning back.
