The Grand Hall of Olympus was alive with the hum of animated conversation, the gods and goddesses mingling and exchanging gossip as they always did. The air was thick with the scent of ambrosia and nectar, the divine drinks of the gods, and the sound of laughter echoed off the marble walls.
It was in this atmosphere of joy and revelry that Cady, the goddess of inventions, technology, and a minor goddess of wisdom, made her entrance. Her light brown hair shimmered in the ethereal light that filled the hall, and her green eyes scanned the crowd with a small smile playing on her lips. She moved with a grace and confidence that belied her status as a minor deity, and as she approached the center of the hall, a hush fell over the room.
Cady raised her hands, signaling for attention, and the chatter died down. She looked out at the sea of faces before her, her expression serious. "Greetings, my fellow deities," she began, her voice clear and strong. "I have an announcement to make."
A ripple of excitement ran through the crowd, and the gods and goddesses leaned in, eager to hear Cady's news. She paused for a moment, savoring the suspense, before continuing. "It seems that I, Cady, have been blessed with new life."
A collective gasp filled the air, as the gods and goddesses took in Cady's words. She stood before them, her belly flat and unblemished, and yet she spoke the truth. She was pregnant.
Cady, unperturbed by the reaction, continued, "I was there for Hephaestus when he was laughed at and ridiculed. I stood by him, and now, I am proud to say, I carry his child."
Aphrodite, the goddess of love, looked flustered as she tried to interject, but Cady cut her off with a wave of her hand. "Dear Aphrodite," Cady said, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Your love potions may have worked on Hephaestus and Ares, but they certainly didn't on me."
The hall filled with laughter, as Cady's wit and directness left Aphrodite speechless. Cady stood tall, her chin held high, as the gods and goddesses offered their congratulations. She was a strong, controlling, and direct goddess, and she would not let anyone, not even Aphrodite, bring her down.
With a final nod, Cady exited the hall, leaving the gods and goddesses in stunned silence. The news of her pregnancy had shocked them all, but Cady was not one to be underestimated. She was a force to be reckoned with, and she would face the challenges of motherhood with the same strength and determination that she faced everything else.
The Grand Hall buzzed with excitement long after Cady had left. The gods and goddesses whispered amongst themselves, trying to make sense of the unexpected announcement. But one thing was certain - Cady was going to be a mother, and nothing would ever be the same again.
