Camp Half-Blood's Scandalous Conception: When Aphrodite Meets Hephaestus, Sparks (and a Bun) Fly

Chapter One: The Big Reveal

Selina ran the brush through her long, black hair, her mind racing. She couldn’t believe it – she was pregnant. She had only just found out that day, and she still couldn’t wrap her head around it. She sighed, looking at her reflection in the vanity mirror. The small baby bump that was starting to show made her feel even more self-conscious.

The flap of the tent opening caught her attention, and she turned to see Charles, a son of Hephaestus, enter the cabin. He had been making her miniature statues as a way to express his love and care for her. She smiled at him, her heart fluttering.

Charles noticed the change in her appearance and walked over to her. “Selina, what’s wrong?” he asked, his brow furrowed.

Selina took a deep breath, steeling herself for his reaction. “I’m pregnant,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Charles’ eyes widened, and he was silent for a moment. Selina felt her heart rate quicken as she waited for him to say something.

Finally, he pulled her into a tight embrace. “I’ll support you no matter what,” he said, his voice steady. “We’ll figure things out together.”

Selina felt a wave of relief wash over her. She was grateful for Charles’ support, but she knew that they needed to tell the rest of the Aphrodite cabin.

Together, they made their way to the cabin common room, where the rest of the Aphrodite campers were lounging and chatting. Selina could feel her heart racing as she thought about how they were going to react.

She took a deep breath and announced, “I’m pregnant.” A few of the campers gasped, but most of them just stared at her in shock.

One of the Aphrodite campers, a daughter of Demeter, spoke up. “Who’s the father?” she asked, her voice dripping with disapproval.

Selina hesitated for a moment before saying, “Charles is the father.” The Demeter daughter raised an eyebrow. “A son of Hephaestus?” she said, sounding skeptical.

Selina felt a surge of anger. “Yes, a son of Hephaestus,” she said, her voice sharp. “And he’s going to be a great father.”

The Demeter daughter rolled her eyes, but didn’t say anything else. The rest of the Aphrodite campers started to congratulate Selina and Charles, and Selina felt a sense of relief.

As the campers started to disperse, the Demeter daughter pulled Selina aside. “You know this is a mistake, right?” she said, her voice low.

Selina glared at her. “Excuse me?” she said, her voice icy.

The Demeter daughter smirked. “A son of Hephaestus?” she said. “He’s not exactly known for his… romantic prowess.”

Selina felt a surge of anger. “Charles is more of a man than you’ll ever know,” she said, her voice low. “And he’s going to be an amazing father.”

The Demeter daughter just laughed and walked away, leaving Selina fuming. But as she looked over at Charles, who was talking to one of the other campers, she felt a sense of calm. She knew that they were going to be okay.

“You okay?” Charles asked, walking over to her.

Selina nodded. “I am now,” she said, smiling up at him.

Charles took her hand and squeezed it. “Let’s go for a walk,” he said, leading her out of the cabin.

As they walked through the camp, Selina felt a sense of peace. She knew that they had a long road ahead of them, but she was ready to face it with Charles by her side.

“I love you,” Charles said, stopping and turning to face her.

Selina smiled. “I love you too,” she said, standing on her tiptoes to kiss him.

As they broke apart, Selina felt a sense of excitement. She was pregnant, and she was going to be a mother. And she couldn’t wait to start this new chapter of her life with Charles.
