The sun beat down on Hassan's shoulders as he walked through the quad, taking in the sights and sounds of his new academic home. He had never seen so many students in one place, all bustling about with purpose and ambition. It was both exhilarating and intimidating.
As he scanned the sea of faces, Hassan's eyes landed on a group of Arab students sitting on a bench, chatting and laughing. He recognized some of them from high school, but they had never given him the time of day. He decided to take a chance and go sit with them.
"Hey, mind if I join you guys?" Hassan asked, approaching the bench with a friendly smile.
The students looked up and smiled, making room for him on the bench. "Sure thing! I'm Amir, and this is Leila, Samir, and Aisha."
Hassan's heart skipped a beat as he locked eyes with Aisha. She was stunning, with dark hair and piercing green eyes. He couldn't help but be drawn to her.
"Nice to meet you all," Hassan said, sitting down next to Aisha. "I'm Hassan, the new kid on the block."
The group chatted and laughed, and Hassan found himself enjoying their company. But he couldn't help but feel like an outsider, like he didn't quite fit in.
That is, until he started talking to Aisha. They had a lot in common, and Hassan found himself looking forward to their conversations. He couldn't believe how easy it was to talk to her, how comfortable he felt around her.
But just as Hassan was starting to make progress with Aisha, a tall, handsome white guy named Brad sauntered over and started talking to her. Hassan couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy as he watched them flirt and laugh.
Aisha seemed to be enjoying Brad's company, and Hassan couldn't help but feel like he was being pushed to the side. He tried to insert himself into the conversation, but it was clear that Aisha was more interested in Brad.
Hassan started to feel the familiar pangs of loneliness and rejection that he had felt in high school. He couldn't believe that it was happening again.
But this time, instead of feeling sadness, Hassan felt a darker emotion brewing inside of him. He wasn't going to let this happen again.
The next day, Hassan showed up to the quad with a gun in his backpack. He wasn't sure what he was going to do, but he knew he couldn't let Brad take Aisha away from him.
As he walked through the quad, Hassan saw Brad and Aisha sitting together, laughing and joking. He felt a surge of anger and pulled out the gun.
Before he could even think about what he was doing, Hassan shot Brad. The other students screamed and scattered.
Hassan stood there, shocked at what he had done. He couldn't believe he had just killed someone.
He turned the gun on himself and pulled the trigger.
As he fell to the ground, Hassan couldn't help but think about all the times he had been rejected and ignored by girls in the past. He wished he had handled things differently.
But it was too late now. The damage was done.
The quad was silent as Hassan took his last breath. He had let his anger and jealousy consume him, and now he would pay the price.
It was a tragic end to a story that could have been so different. Hassan's actions were a reminder of the importance of mental health and the consequences of violence.
It was a lesson that would not be forgotten.
