Candy, Wine, and Sea Spray: A Goddess Get-Together on Postpartum Life and Little Delights

Chapter One: Goddesses Gather

The garden of Brigitte, the goddess of fertility, was a riot of colors and sweet scents. The vibrant flowers and candies that adorned the place were a testament to her power, and the warm sun of the afternoon bathed the scene in a golden glow. It was the perfect setting for a gathering of goddesses, and Brigitte couldn't have been happier to welcome her guests.

Hera, the queen of the gods, arrived first, her regal gown shimmering in the sunlight. She held her son Jason in her arms, his cherubic face beaming with joy. "Brigitte, my dear," Hera greeted, her voice as commanding as ever, "it's always a pleasure to visit your lovely garden."

Brigitte couldn't help but notice the dark circles under Hera's eyes and the subtle hint of exhaustion in her posture. "You look radiant, Hera," she lied, her eyes flicking to Jason, "and little Jason is just adorable."

Hera chuckled, her eyes softening as she looked at her son. "Zeus is absolutely smitten with him, you know. But I must admit, he could be of more help during the nighttime feedings."

Amphitrite, the goddess of the sea, arrived next, her aquamarine hair cascading down her back like a waterfall. She was accompanied by Perseus, the demigod son of Poseidon, who was more interested in splashing the nearby fountain than paying attention to his mother's words.

"Brigitte, my love," Amphitrite greeted, her voice as soothing as the waves. "Poseidon and I have been teaching Perseus how to control water, but I'm afraid he's more interested in causing mischief than learning."

Persephone, the goddess of spring and queen of the underworld, arrived last, her dark hair and pale skin a stark contrast to the colorful garden. She cradled her twins Bianca and Nico, their dark eyes reflecting their father's obsession with the underworld.

"Brigitte, darling," Persephone greeted, her voice as sharp as a whip. "I see you've outdone yourself once again."

Brigitte couldn't help but roll her eyes at Persephone's condescending tone. "Persephone, always a pleasure. Your twins are just beautiful."

Persephone's expression softened as she looked at her children. "Hades has been surprisingly supportive, but his obsession with the underworld is... tiresome."

The goddesses gathered around a table laden with candy and pastries, discussing their children's eating habits. Brigitte shared her struggles with Solace's picky eating, while Hera and Amphitrite exchanged knowing glances.

Persephone playfully insulted the others, saying their kids will never be as powerful as hers. Brigitte retorted with a joke about Persephone's twins being "mini-Hades" and needing extra supervision.

The conversation turned to their husbands' treatment of them postpartum. Brigitte shared how Apollo has been helpful, but she could use more sleep. Hera and Amphitrite commiserated, while Persephone remained surprisingly quiet.

Persephone finally opened up, admitting that Hades has been surprisingly supportive. She shared how he even gave her a break by taking care of the twins for a night.

The goddesses exchanged knowing looks, realizing that even the Lord of the Underworld has his soft spots. They all agreed that their husbands have room for improvement, but they're grateful for the support they do receive.

The conversation turned to their children's sleeping habits. Brigitte confesses that Solace has been waking her up at night, while Hera and Amphitrite share their own struggles. Persephone, on the other hand, boasts that her twins sleep through the night.

The goddesses good-naturedly tease Persephone, saying she must have made a deal with the underworld to get such well-behaved children. Persephone laughs and admits that she might have used her influence.

As the afternoon wears on, the goddesses continue to share stories and laugh together. Despite the challenges of motherhood and their differences, they all have one thing in common - their love for their children.

Brigitte looks around at her friends, feeling grateful for their support and friendship. She knows that motherhood isn't always easy, but with friends like these, she can handle anything.

The goddesses say their goodbyes, each leaving with a renewed sense of purpose and a bag full of candy. They know that they'll face challenges in the future, but they're ready to take on whatever comes their way.

As the sun sets on Brigitte's garden, the goddesses disperse, each returning to their own realm. But they know that they'll always have a sisterhood to turn to, no matter what.
