The living room of Eda and Okan’s shared home was cozy and cluttered, filled with a haphazard assortment of furniture and knick-knacks that reflected the personalities of its inhabitants. Eda, a striking woman with fiery red hair and a sharp tongue, lounged on the couch, flipping through channels on the TV. She was bored out of her mind.
Okan, Eda’s cousin and roommate, entered the room, holding a stack of papers. He was a handsome, clean-cut man with a serious expression.
Eda glanced up at him and wrinkled her nose. “What are you doing with those, nerdboy? Trying to find a way to bore me even more?”
Okan rolled his eyes and shook his head. “These are important documents, Eda. I have to go over them for work.”
Eda sighed dramatically and tossed a pillow at Okan. “Can’t you do that later? It’s a beautiful day outside. Let’s go do something fun.”
Okan frowned and adjusted his glasses. “I can’t just drop everything, Eda. I have responsibilities.”
Eda pouted and stood up, walking over to Okan. She snatched the papers out of his hand and tossed them in the air. “Fine, stay here and be boring. I’m going to go have some fun without you.”
Okan sighed and started to gather the papers. “Fine, go ahead. Just don’t get into trouble.”
Eda smirked and headed towards the door. “No promises, cousin. I might just find someone more interesting to spend the day with.”
Okan’s face fell and he looked at Eda with a mixture of hurt and annoyance. “You wouldn’t dare, Eda. You know I’m the only one who can put up with your sass.”
Eda grinned and winked at Okan before leaving the house. “We’ll see about that, Okan. We’ll see.”
Eda spent the day flirting with strangers and causing mischief. She returned home in the evening, feeling satisfied and a little bit guilty.
Okan was still at the living room, working on his papers. He looked up as Eda entered.
Okan: “How was your day, Eda?”
Eda avoided Okan’s gaze and mumbled a response.
Eda: “It was fine. Yours?”
Okan raised an eyebrow and studied Eda for a moment.
Okan: “It was productive. I got a lot of work done. But I have to admit, I was a little worried about you.”
Eda looked at Okan, surprised.
Eda: “Why? I can take care of myself.”
Okan smiled and stood up, walking over to Eda.
Okan: “I know you can, Eda. But that doesn’t mean I don’t care about you. I was worried because I care about you.”
Eda’s face softened and she looked up at Okan, feeling a warmth in her chest.
Eda: “I’m sorry, Okan. I didn’t mean to worry you. I just wanted to have some fun.”
Okan: “I understand, Eda. But next time, let’s have fun together.”
Eda: “Deal.”
They shared a smile and a moment of understanding, before returning to their own activities for the night.
