Cassandra and Adam stepped into the hotel room, both letting out a disappointed sigh at the sight of the single queen-sized bed. Cassandra spoke up, trying to lighten the mood, "Well, I guess we'll have to cuddle tonight, Adam."
Adam's cheeks turned a slight shade of pink as he responded with a playful jab, "Mom, I didn't realize this was a mother-son bonding trip."
Cassandra let out a hearty laugh, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "Oh, don't worry, Adam. I'll make sure to give you plenty of space."
She began unpacking her suitcase, while Adam flopped down on the bed with a dramatic sigh. Cassandra glanced at the bed and suggested, "You know, Adam, we could always request another bed."
Adam shook his head, not wanting to inconvenience anyone. "No, it's fine, Mom. I'll just sleep on the floor."
Cassandra immediately shot down the idea. "Nonsense, Adam. We'll figure something out."
She started brainstorming ideas, ranging from pushing the two nightstands together to sleeping diagonally. Adam, still slightly embarrassed, spoke up, "Mom, I really don't mind. I'm used to sleeping on the floor during camping trips."
Cassandra refused to hear any more of that. "Absolutely not, Adam. We'll make this work."
Finally, she came up with the idea of sleeping on the edge of the bed and letting Adam have the majority of the space. Adam let out a sigh of relief and gratitude, "Thanks, Mom. I really appreciate it."
As they settled in for the night, Cassandra said, "Goodnight, Adam. Don't hog all the blankets."
Adam chuckled, "Goodnight, Mom. I'll try not to."
The night was filled with comfortable silence, punctuated by the occasional sharp and witty banter between mother and son. Despite the awkward sleeping arrangements, they managed to make the most of their cozy night in.
