The family living room was a cozy and welcoming space, always filled with laughter and love. It was here that Brigitte, the light pink-haired goddess of fun and joy, and Apollo, the god of the sun and music, sat on the couch, waiting for their son Solace to arrive.
Solace, a 16-year-old boy with curly blonde hair and blue eyes, entered the room, knowing he'd been caught in a lie. He hesitated in the doorway, his eyes darting between his parents, before finally making his way over to the couch.
Brigitte looked at Solace with a playful smirk, "Solace, where were you?" she asked, her voice filled with amusement.
Solace sighed, running a hand through his curls, "I was with Nico," he admitted, referring to Hades and Persephone's son.
Apollo raised an eyebrow, "But you know we're fine with you hanging out with Nico," he said, his tone light-hearted. "And you most definitely weren't smoking or drinking, because I would have smelled that by now," he added with a chuckle.
Solace looked at his parents, his eyes pleading, "Okay, if I tell you, you can't be mad," he said, trying to negotiate.
Brigitte and Apollo exchanged a glance, a silent agreement passing between them. "We promise," Brigitte said, her voice filled with mischief.
Solace took a deep breath, "We were...exploring the Underworld," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Apollo's eyes widened, "The Underworld?!" he exclaimed, his tone filled with surprise. "That's quite the adventure," he added, trying to hide his worry.
Brigitte laughed, her eyes sparkling with joy, "Oh, Solace, you always know how to make things interesting," she said, her voice filled with pride.
Solace looked at his parents, his eyes filled with gratitude, "I'm sorry I lied," he said, his voice sincere.
Brigitte smiled, "It's alright, Solace," she said, her voice filled with understanding. "As long as you're safe, that's all that matters," she added, her tone reassuring.
Apollo nodded, "And as long as you're not getting into any trouble," he said, his tone filled with playful warning.
Solace rolled his eyes, "I would never," he said, his voice filled with mock indignation.
Brigitte chuckled, "Of course, you would," she said, her voice filled with amusement. "But that's what makes you, you," she added, her tone filled with love.
Solace smiled, his eyes filled with warmth, "I love you, mom," he said, his voice filled with sincerity.
Brigitte's eyes filled with tears, "I love you too, Solace," she said, her voice filled with emotion.
The three of them sat on the couch, the tension in the room dissipating as they continued to talk and laugh. Solace told them more about his adventure in the Underworld, leaving out any details that might worry them. Brigitte and Apollo listened, their pride for their son shining through in their eyes.
As the night wore on, the conversation turned to lighter topics. Brigitte and Apollo shared stories from their own youth, making Solace laugh with their antics. Solace shared his own stories, making his parents proud with his maturity and thoughtfulness.
As the night came to a close, Solace hugged his parents, thanking them for understanding. Brigitte and Apollo hugged him back, promising to always be there for him, no matter what.
And with that, the truth had come out, and the bond between parent and child had grown stronger. The end.
