John checked his watch for the third time in as many minutes. Where was his wife, Susan? He was supposed to meet her for lunch, but she was running late, and he was growing increasingly impatient.
As he sat in the plush leather chair in her office, he couldn't help but overhear the conversation coming from the conference room down the hall. Two of Susan's coworkers, a man and a woman, were engaged in a particularly explicit discussion.
"I can't believe you're actually going to do it," the man said, his voice slurred from too much alcohol.
"Why not?" the woman replied, her voice dripping with confidence. "I'm a modern woman. I can do whatever I want."
