Fabrício's room was a mess, but he was doing his best to tidy up before his parents left him alone for the night. They were going out for a fancy dinner, leaving him with the responsibility of babysitting his neighbor's 10-year-old daughter, Alice.
As he was straightening up his posters and putting away his video game collection, he heard a knock on the door. "Come in!" he called out, and in walked Alice, full of energy and curiosity.
She inspected his room with a playful smirk, "Nice posters, Fabrício. You must be quite the fan of action movies."
Fabrício, trying to hide his awkwardness, engaged Alice in a conversation about school and hobbies. "So, Alice, what do you like to do for fun?"
Alice shrugged, "I like to sing, and I'm on the school's debate team. How about you?"
Fabrício nodded, "I like to play guitar and video games. Do you want to hear me play something?"
Alice's face lit up, "Yes, please!"
Fabrício grabbed his guitar from the corner of the room and started strumming a soft melody. Alice joined in, singing along with a voice that filled the room. He couldn't help but notice her innocence and beauty, but he quickly shook off those thoughts, reminding himself of the age difference.
After he finished playing, Alice asked him what was wrong. Fabrício stuttered, trying to come up with an excuse.
Alice, with a mischievous smile, teased him, "You're such a weirdo, Fabrício. Why are you so awkward?"
Fabrício, embarrassed, tried to defend himself, but Alice's playful insults only made him more flustered.
Alice, noticing Fabrício's discomfort, decided to change the subject and challenged him to a video game. Fabrício, relieved, accepted the challenge and the two of them spent the next hour competing and laughing.
As the night wears on, Alice becomes tired and Fabrício offers her a place to sleep. Alice, feeling safe and comfortable with Fabrício, agrees and settles down on the couch.
Fabrício, watching Alice sleep, feels a mix of emotions - guilt, attraction, and confusion. He knows he shouldn't be having these thoughts about a 10-year-old girl, but he can't help the way he feels.
Fabrício, unable to sleep, decides to write in his journal about the night's events. As he writes, he realizes that he must confront his feelings and find a way to move forward without compromising Alice's safety and innocence.
He writes: "Tonight was an unexpected encounter. I can't deny the feelings I have, but I know I can't act on them. I must find a way to keep Alice safe and protected while also being true to myself. It won't be easy, but I know I must try."
With that, Fabrício closes his journal and tries to get some rest, knowing that he has a long journey ahead of him.
