The classroom was a symphony of pencils scratching against paper and the occasional whisper between classmates. Mrs. Thompson stood at the front of the room, her back to the students as she wrote notes on the board. Ivory sat at her desk, her gaze fixed on the teacher, but her mind was far away.
"Earth to Ivory," a voice broke through her thoughts. She turned to see her friend, Lily, sitting next to her with a smirk on her face. "You've been zoned out for the past ten minutes. What's on your mind?"
Ivory hesitated, unsure if she wanted to reveal what she had been thinking about. But the curiosity in her classmates' eyes was too much to resist. "I was just thinking about my dads," she admitted.
A chorus of "oohs" and "aahs" filled the room. Ivory's parents were a popular topic of conversation among her classmates. She had two dads, Apollo and Dionysus, both of whom were gods.
"What's it like having godly parents?" someone asked.
Ivory rolled her eyes. "It's not as exciting as you think. They're just like regular parents, except they're a little more... intense."
"Intense?" Lily raised an eyebrow. "In what way?"
"Well, for starters, my dad Apollo is all about discipline and high expectations," Ivory explained. "He's a musician, so he's always pushing me to be the best I can be. He's strict, but he's also fair. And when he's not making me practice for hours on end, he's teaching me about the beauty of music and how it can touch people's souls."
Her classmates were in awe. "That's amazing," one of them whispered.
Ivory smiled. "Yeah, it can be pretty cool. But then there's my other dad, Dionysus. He's the complete opposite of Apollo. He's all about wild parties and festivals. Our house is always filled with music, laughter, and wine. It's a little embarrassing, to be honest."
Her classmates couldn't help but laugh at Ivory's exasperated expressions. "That sounds like a lot of fun," someone said.
Ivory shrugged. "It can be. But it's also a challenge having two very different parents. They have different ideas about how I should live my life, and it can be hard to balance their expectations. But I love them both, and I wouldn't have it any other way."
Her classmates listened intently, fascinated by Ivory's experiences. She could see the wheels turning in their heads as they imagined what it would be like to have godly parents.
"Do you have any supernatural abilities?" someone asked.
Ivory smirked. "I'm not going to tell you that," she said playfully. "You'll just have to wait and see."
Her classmates groaned, but they couldn't hide their excitement. Ivory was always full of surprises, and they couldn't wait to see what she would do next.
The bell rang, signaling the end of class. Ivory gathered her things and stood up, ready to face whatever challenges the day would bring. She may have had godly parents, but she was still a normal teenager, with normal teenager problems. But she wouldn't have it any other way.
