The meadow was bathed in the warm glow of the rising sun, the dew on the grass sparkling like a million tiny diamonds. Niklaus turned to face Lilli, who looked back at him with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"You're as slow as a snail, Niklaus," she said, a playful insult rolling off her tongue. Before he could respond, she closed the distance between them, pulling him in for a passionate kiss.
