Sarah chuckled, ignoring his outstretched hand and giving him a playful pat on the shoulder instead. “Come on, I’ll give you a tour. But don’t get too excited, I’m sure you’ll be just as awkward here as you were in high school.”
Markus rolled his eyes, following Sarah as she led him through the office. She made playful insults about his old self, but Markus took it in stride. He was determined to prove her wrong, to show her that he was capable and confident.
