The local tavern was filled with the rowdy sounds of orc patrons, their booming voices and hearty laughter echoing off the wooden walls. Grazda, an orc woman with a reputation for her strength and cunning, sat with her friends at their usual table, regaling them with tales of her latest conquest - a human male.
"You'll never find a 'real' partner if you keep going for the weak and puny," one of her friends scoffed, rolling her eyes.
Grazda laughed, not the least bit bothered by their insults. "I find the delicateness of the elf boys endearing. They're so different from us orcs, it's refreshing."
Her friends exchanged knowing looks, commenting on how Grazda always went for the ones who were "too young to know any better."
As they continued to tease her, a group of orc men approached the table, boasting about their latest hunt and how they "bagged the biggest beast in the forest." Grazda's friends cooed and fawned over them, but Grazda remained unimpressed.
Just as the orc men were about to take a seat at the table, a small, scared elf boy stumbled into the tavern, lost and looking for help. Grazda's heart melted at the sight of him - he was the perfect combination of cute and vulnerable.
She approached the elf boy, offering him food and drink. He was hesitant at first, but Grazda's warm and welcoming demeanor put him at ease.
"What's your name, little one?" Grazda asked, her voice soft and gentle.
"E-Eldon," the elf boy stuttered, his eyes wide with fear.
As they chatted, Grazda's friends couldn't help but make playful jabs at the elf boy's small stature. Grazda shot them a warning look, telling them to back off.
"He's just a child," she said, her voice firm. "He doesn't deserve your ridicule."
The orc men continued to brag, but Grazda's attention was solely on the elf boy. She couldn't believe how adorable he was - she had never felt this way about anyone before.
As the night wore on, Grazda helped the elf boy find his way back home. She couldn't shake the feeling that he would make the perfect partner - small in stature, but strong in spirit.
She returned to the tavern, her friends still fawning over the orc men. Grazda couldn't help but laugh - they just didn't understand what she saw in the elf boys.
She decided then and there that she was going to find her own ideal partner - someone who was small, cute, and full of spirit. She knew it wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to make it work.
Grazda raised a toast to her friends, saying "Here's to finding our own paths, no matter how unconventional they may be."
Her friends cheered and clinked their mugs together, but Grazda's mind was already elsewhere - on the adventure of finding her perfect elf boy.
