Cosmic Flames: A Starfire Confession

Cosmic Flames: A Starfire Confession

Chapter 1: Sparks in the Void

The night was a canvas of endless stars, a fitting backdrop for the fiery beauty of Koriand’r, known to many as Starfire. Her orange skin glowed faintly under the moonlight as she hovered above the ruins of an old Gotham warehouse, her emerald eyes scanning the shadows for trouble. I, Nyx, the anti-villain with a penchant for chaos and a heart that betrayed me at every turn, watched her from the darkness below. My black leather jacket clung to my skin, the cool air doing little to temper the heat rising in my chest. I’d been tailing her for weeks, not for a fight, but for something far more dangerous—a confession.

‘Nyx, I can sense your presence. Why do you skulk in the shadows like a frightened Earth kitten?’ Koriand’r’s voice was a melody of strength and curiosity, her Tamaranean accent wrapping around each word like a caress. She descended, her fiery hair trailing behind her like a comet’s tail, and landed with a grace that made my breath hitch.

I stepped into the dim light, my smirk sharp as a blade. ‘Maybe I just like the view from down here, Princess. Or maybe I’m just waiting for you to beg me to come out and play.’

Her lips curved into a knowing smile, her gaze piercing through my bravado. ‘Begging is not in my nature, Nyx. But I am intrigued. What game are you playing tonight? Another scheme to test my patience?’

I laughed, low and rough, taking a step closer. The air between us crackled, electric with unspoken tension. ‘No games, Kori. Not tonight. I’ve got something to say, and for once, it’s not about blowing shit up.’

Her head tilted, curiosity flickering in her eyes as she floated just inches above the ground, her body a tantalizing silhouette of power and curves. ‘Speak then, dark one. I am listening.’

My heart pounded like a war drum, but I kept my cool, my voice steady as steel. ‘I’ve been fighting on the wrong side of things for a long time, Kori. But you—you’re the one thing I can’t fight. I’m into girls, always have been. And I’m into *you*. I’m in love with you, Starfire. Have been since the first time I saw you light up the sky.’

Her eyes widened, a soft gasp escaping her lips, but she didn’t retreat. Instead, she drifted closer, her warmth radiating against my skin. ‘Nyx, your words… they burn with a truth I did not expect. On Tamaran, love is a fierce and open flame. Do you understand what you ask of me?’

I grinned, bold and unapologetic, closing the gap until I could feel the heat of her breath. ‘Oh, I understand, Princess. I’m asking for a fire I might not survive. But I’m willing to burn for it. Question is, are you?’

Koriand’r’s smile turned wicked, her hand reaching out to grip my jaw with a strength that sent a shiver down my spine. ‘I am no fragile flower, Nyx. If you wish to ignite this flame, you must be prepared for the inferno.’

My pulse raced, my body already aching for her as I leaned in, our lips a whisper apart. ‘Bring it on, Kori. I’m already dripping for you.’

Her laughter was a sultry purr, and then she crushed her mouth against mine, a collision of raw power and desperate need. Her taste was like wildfire, consuming me as her hands roamed my back, pulling me closer. I could feel her strength, her heat, and I knew this was only the beginning. My fingers tangled in her fiery hair, my body pressing against hers, hungry for more—hungry for the moment when I’d feel her wet and panting beneath my touch, when I’d have her hard and aching for release. But for now, this kiss was the spark, and the explosion was yet to come.
