Chapter 1: Unveiling Desire

The convention hall buzzed with vibrant energy, a kaleidoscope of colors and costumes swirling around Lila Voss. At just eighteen, the university freshman had never felt more out of place—or more alive. Her heart raced beneath the tight, revealing outfit of her favorite fictional character, Seraphina Storm, a fierce warrior princess from the fantasy game *Elderguard*. The costume was scandalously skimpy, with a metallic bikini top barely containing her ample 85E bust and a tiny pleated skirt that fluttered over her curvaceous 60-90-62 cm frame. Lila’s long, honey-blonde hair cascaded in waves down her back, and her wide, innocent blue eyes peered through a delicate mask, adding a touch of mystery to her hyperfeminine allure.

She adjusted the thin straps of her top, hyper-aware of every gaze that lingered a little too long. Lila wasn’t used to this kind of attention. Back in her dorm, she was the quiet, nerdy girl who buried herself in textbooks and game lore. But here, she felt like a goddess—and it terrified her as much as it thrilled her.

'Hey, Seraphina, looking for a knight to save you?' a deep, teasing voice cut through the crowd. Lila turned to see a tall, rugged guy dressed as a cyberpunk mercenary, complete with faux leather and a smirk that could melt steel. His name tag read ‘Kade.’

Lila squared her shoulders, channeling Seraphina’s fiery spirit. 'I don’t need saving, mercenary. I slay dragons for breakfast,' she shot back, her voice steadier than she felt. Her wit surprised even herself.

Kade’s dark eyes gleamed with amusement as he stepped closer, the scent of his cologne—something spicy and dangerous—wrapping around her. 'Is that so? Then why do you look like you’re about to bolt for the nearest exit? First con jitters?'

She crossed her arms, inadvertently pushing her chest up, and noticed his gaze flicker downward for a split second. 'I’m fine. Just... adjusting. This costume isn’t exactly practical for battle—or breathing,' she quipped, a nervous laugh escaping her lips.

'Practical? Nah. But damn, it’s effective. You’ve got half the hall ready to pledge their swords to you,' Kade said, his tone low and suggestive. He leaned in, his breath warm against her ear. 'Including me.'

Lila’s cheeks flushed, but she refused to back down. 'Swords, huh? That’s a bold claim. Got anything to back it up, or are you all talk?' Her words were sharp, daring, and she couldn’t believe they’d come from her own mouth.

Kade grinned, a predator’s smile. 'Oh, I’ve got plenty to show, princess. Question is, are you brave enough to find out?' He gestured toward a quieter corner of the convention hall, away from the prying eyes of the crowd.

Her pulse hammered in her throat. This wasn’t her—timid, bookish Lila didn’t flirt with strangers or follow them into shadowy corners. But the heat in Kade’s gaze ignited something wild inside her, a spark of desire she’d never dared to explore. She bit her lip, her mind racing as fast as her heart.

'Lead the way, mercenary,' she said finally, her voice husky with anticipation. As they slipped away from the crowd, the air between them crackled with unspoken promises. Lila’s skin tingled, her body already responding to the thought of what might happen next—his hands on her, the heat of his touch against her bare skin. She could almost feel the hard press of him, the way her own wet heat would answer. The corner loomed closer, a secluded alcove draped in shadows, and she knew there was no turning back.
