Felicity's living room was filled with the sound of gunfire and explosions as her young boyfriend, Alex, played his video games. She couldn't help but smile as she watched him, her heart swelling with affection. She reached out and pinched his cheek, causing him to jump in surprise.
"Aw, look at you, you're so cute," she cooed, ruffling his hair.
Alex rolled his eyes, but he couldn't hide his own smile. "You're one to talk, cougar," he teased.
Felicity stuck her tongue out at him, but her playful mood was interrupted by the entrance of her roommate, Regina. She rolled her eyes at the sight of Felicity and Alex on the couch, shaking her head.
"Ugh, get a room, you two," she said, crossing her arms.
Felicity raised an eyebrow. "Jealous, Regina?"
Regina scoffed. "Please. I wouldn't be caught dead with a boy toy like that."
Felicity's smile faded as she noticed the object in Regina's hand. It was a small, metallic device, with a strange blue light emanating from the end.
"What's that?" she asked, her heart beginning to race.
Regina grinned, holding up the device for Felicity to see. "This, my dear, is a shrink ray. I got it off the dark web."
Felicity's eyes widened in horror as Regina pointed the shrink ray at Alex. Before she could even react, a bright blue light enveloped him, and he began to shrink down to the size of a action figure.
"Alex!" Felicity cried out, reaching for him.
But Regina was too quick, snatching him up in her hand and holding him aloft. Alex cried out in fear, struggling to break free.
"Regina, give him back!" Felicity demanded, her voice shaking with anger.
Regina shook her head, a smug look on her face. "Nope. I'm going to teach him a lesson. He needs to man up and stop being so innocent."
Felicity's eyes narrowed. "You've gone too far, Regina. Give him back now."
Regina scoffed. "You're too soft, Felicity. That's why you're still single."
Felicity's anger boiled over. "I'll show you soft," she snarled, grabbing the shrink ray from Regina's hand.
Regina laughed, calling Felicity a "cougar in heat" and daring her to use the shrink ray. Felicity hesitated for a moment, but then pulled the trigger.
Regina squealed in surprise as she began to shrink down to the size of a toy, her eyes wide with shock. Felicity picked her up, grinning triumphantly.
"You shouldn't have messed with Alex, Regina," she said, her voice low and dangerous. "I would do anything to protect him."
Regina nodded, still shrunken and cowering. "I'm sorry, Felicity. I won't do it again."
Felicity put Regina down, warning her to never mess with Alex again. She picked up Alex, holding him close and whispering soothing words. He calmed down, sniffling.
"It's okay, Alex. I've got you," Felicity said, her voice filled with love and protection.
She glared at Regina one last time before leaving the room with Alex, determined to keep him safe.
