The low hum of conversation and clinking of glasses filled the high-end bar as Alex sat perched on the barstool. She swirled the amber liquid in her glass, the ice cubes clinking against the sides. A whiskey neat – just the way she liked it. She was dressed in a sharp business suit, her blonde hair pulled back into a sleek ponytail. She looked every bit the powerful CEO she was.
A man took a seat next to her, his suit impeccably tailored and his shoes shined to a high gloss. He was older, distinguished, and had an air of dominance about him. Alex couldn't help but take notice.
"I must say, I'm impressed," the man said, his voice low and smooth. "A woman like you, drinking whiskey neat. It's not something you see every day."
Alex raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "And what is it that you see every day, Mr....?"
"Richard," he said, extending a hand. "And I see people making choices based on what they think is expected of them, not what they truly want."
Alex shook his hand, a small smile playing on her lips. "Well, Richard, I can assure you that I always go for what I truly want."
Richard laughed, a deep, genuine laugh. "I can see that. And what is it that you truly want right now?"
Alex took a sip of her whiskey, her eyes never leaving Richard's. "I want to know more about you, Richard. You seem like an interesting man."
Richard's eyes twinkled. "Oh, I am. I'm a Dom, for one."
Alex felt a thrill run down her spine. She had always been in control of her own life, but the idea of giving that control to someone else was intriguing to her. "A Dom?" she repeated. "What does that mean, exactly?"
