The door to her bedroom creaked open, and Emily jumped, her heart racing. She quickly slammed the magazine shut, her cheeks burning. Caught. Red-handed.
Her father stepped into the room, his eyes immediately locking onto the magazine in her hands. Emily's embarrassment deepened, and she felt a strong urge to sink into the floor and disappear.
But her father didn't scold her. Instead, he walked over to her bed and sat down, patting the space next to him. "Don't be shy, sweetheart. This is a natural part of growing up."
Emily's eyes widened in shock. Was her father really going to talk to her about this? She felt a mix of emotions: embarrassment, curiosity, and a strange sense of excitement.

"Here, let me show you something," her father said, pulling out a small, silicone object from his pocket.
Emily's eyes widened in shock. "Ew, gross! I'm not touching that!"
Her father chuckled and put the toy away, telling her that it's okay to be curious but to also be cautious. Emily thanked her father for the lesson, and he told her that he'll always be there to answer any questions she may have.
As Emily reflected on the lesson, she felt both embarrassed and grateful. She couldn't believe she had just had this conversation with her father, but at the same time, she was proud of herself for being strong and controlling enough to handle it.
