Chapter 1: Flickering Flames and Forbidden Lust
The forest of '99 Nights' was a labyrinth of shadows and whispers, where danger lurked in every rustle of leaves. Five survivors—two men and three women—huddled around a crackling campfire, their only shield against the monstrous Deer and the eerie cultists who worshipped it. The air was thick with tension, the kind that made your skin prickle and your heart race for all the wrong reasons.
Jaxon, the rugged, brooding type with a jawline sharp enough to cut through the tension, tossed another log onto the fire. 'If that damn Deer comes sniffing around tonight, I’m not dying for any of you,' he growled, his dark eyes scanning the group.
'Oh, please, Jaxon,' scoffed Riley, a fiery redhead with a tongue as sharp as her hunting knife. 'You’d trip over your own ego before you outran that thing. I’m more worried about keeping this fire lit than your heroics.' Her green eyes glinted with defiance, her posture all confidence as she adjusted the rifle slung over her shoulder.
Beside her, Mara, a cool-headed brunette with a knack for strategy, smirked. 'Keep talking, Riley. Maybe your hot air will keep the flames going.' She leaned back against a tree, her long legs stretched out, exuding an effortless allure even in torn cargo pants.
The third woman, Elise, a blonde with a wicked sense of humor and a body that could stop a charging wolf, chuckled darkly. 'If we’re betting on who survives, my money’s on me. I’ve got moves you’ve never even dreamed of.' She winked at Caleb, the quieter of the two men, who blushed under the weight of her gaze.
Caleb, lanky and nervous, fidgeted with a stick. 'Can we not talk about dying? I just want to make it through the night.'
Riley rolled her eyes. 'Relax, Caleb. If you’re scared, you can cuddle up with me. I bite, but only if you ask nicely.' Her tone was dripping with mockery, but there was a heat in her eyes that made Caleb swallow hard.
The banter was a distraction, a way to ignore the creeping dread of the forest. But as the night deepened, so did the unspoken desires simmering beneath their sharp words. Riley caught Jaxon’s gaze lingering on her, his stare hungry, primal. She didn’t look away. 'Got something to say, tough guy, or are you just gonna stare at my ass all night?'
Jaxon’s lips curled into a smirk. 'If I’m staring, it’s because I’m wondering how someone so mouthy can look so damn good. Care to shut me up?' His voice was low, a challenge wrapped in velvet.
Riley stepped closer, her breath hot against the cool night air. 'Careful, Jaxon. I don’t play nice, and I don’t back down. You think you can handle me?' Her hand brushed against his chest, teasing, testing.
The others watched, the tension shifting from survival to something far more dangerous. Mara’s voice cut through, sharp and amused. 'If you two are gonna fuck, at least take it away from the fire. Some of us are trying to survive, not get distracted by your horny bullshit.'
Jaxon grinned, his hand sliding to Riley’s waist, pulling her closer. 'Jealous, Mara? There’s room for more.'
Riley laughed, a sound that was half growl, half purr. 'Dream on. I don’t share.' Her fingers dug into his shirt, her body pressed against his, feeling the hard lines of him through the fabric. The heat between them was palpable, a fire of its own kind, threatening to consume them both.
As their lips crashed together, hungry and fierce, the forest seemed to hold its breath. Riley’s hands roamed, finding him already hard, her smirk wicked against his mouth. 'Looks like you’ve been thinking about this for a while,' she teased, her voice dripping with lust.
Jaxon’s response was a low groan, his hands gripping her hips, pulling her tighter. 'You’ve got no idea how bad I want to bend you over right now.'
The promise of what was to come hung heavy in the air, their bodies sweating with anticipation, panting with need. Riley’s pussy ached, wet and ready, as she ground against him, daring him to take what they both craved. The night was young, and the forest was full of secrets—but for now, all that mattered was the explosive heat building between them, ready to ignite.
