Chapter 1: The Invitation to Madness
The message from Katya flickered on my phone screen, each word dripping with an unfamiliar tone that gnawed at my gut. 'Come to the hospital, Jace. Mom’s repenting. She needs us. Please.' My twin sister, always the braver of us, had vanished into that cursed place six months ago, and now this? I scoffed, tossing the phone onto my bed. No way in hell was I stepping foot in that asylum after what Harley—our mother—had done to us. The memories of her twisted seduction, the drugs, the bindings, still burned in my mind. But Katya’s relentless pleas over the week wore me down like a blade against stone. Fine. I’d go. But only to drag her out of there.
The hospital loomed on the outskirts of town, a decaying monolith of cracked stone and barred windows. The air reeked of despair as I pushed through the rusted gates, my boots crunching on gravel. Inside, the lobby was eerily silent, save for the faint hum of flickering fluorescent lights. Harley sat in a chair near the reception, her once-vibrant eyes now hollow, a sickly sweet smile curling her lips. 'Jace, my sweet boy,' she purred, rising with a predatory grace. 'I knew you’d come for Mommy.'
I clenched my jaw, stepping back. 'Where’s Katya? I’m not here for your games, Harley.'
Her laugh was a jagged edge, slicing through the stale air. 'Oh, she’s around. But first, let’s catch up. It’s been so long since I’ve felt your warmth.' Her words slithered over me, stirring a nauseating mix of disgust and forbidden heat I refused to acknowledge.
Before I could retort, the door creaked open, and a woman in a stained medical gown stumbled in. The stench of sweat and something raw—sperm, maybe—hit me like a punch. Behind her, a man in a straitjacket leered with wild, unhinged eyes. She held a syringe, her grin manic. 'What a naughty boy, Harley. Why are you teasing a new patient?' she cooed, her voice dripping with mockery.
My heart slammed against my ribs. 'What the fuck is this? Where’s the staff?' I demanded, my voice sharper than I intended.
Harley’s smile widened, sinister. 'Oh, darling, the staff is all here. We’re one big, happy family now.'
Panic clawed at me. I turned to bolt, but a nurse—eyes glassy, yet flickering with a desperate spark of sanity—grabbed my arm. 'Don’t leave me,' she whispered, her grip trembling. 'They’ll break you if you stay, but I can’t survive alone.'
I hesitated, just for a split second, and that was my mistake. Harley was on me in an instant, her body pressing against mine as she straddled my lap, pinning me to the chair. 'Drink, my sweet, confused son,' she murmured, forcing a cup of tea to my lips. The scent was strange, intoxicating, a sickeningly pleasant haze clouding my mind. No. I shouldn’t think about how her curves felt against me, how her breath warmed my neck. I struggled, but her hands clamped over my mouth and nose, suffocating me with that damn smell.
The nurse darted forward, her syringe glinting as she plunged it into my arm. 'This’ll help,' she muttered, her voice a mix of pity and madness. My vision swam, my limbs growing heavy as I thrashed against Harley’s hold. Darkness swallowed me whole.
When I came to, I was sprawled on a thin mattress in a sterile, windowless room—an isolation ward. My clothes were gone, replaced by a flimsy patient’s robe. The air was thick with the musk of sweat and something primal. The nurse from before sat beside me, her gown barely covering her, her skin glistening with perspiration. Her eyes roamed over me, hungry, as she leaned closer. 'You’re awake,' she breathed, her voice low and charged. 'They’ll come for you soon. But until then… we can play.'
My head spun, a fog of drugs and confusion clouding my senses, but her proximity ignited something raw in me. Her scent—sweat, hormones, and something dirtier—stirred a heat I didn’t want to name. I could feel my body betraying me, growing hard under the thin fabric as she smirked, her hand brushing dangerously close. 'Don’t fight it,' she teased, her tone sharp as a blade. 'You’re already dripping with need, aren’t you?'
