Desire's Blueprint

Desire's Blueprint

**Chapter 1: The Cracked Foundation**

Masie leaned against the kitchen counter, her sharp green eyes narrowing as she watched her husband, Greg, scroll through his phone, oblivious to the tension simmering in the room. The morning sun streamed through the window, highlighting the fine lines of frustration etched into her face. At thirty-two, Masie was a force—confident, driven, and unapologetically direct. She ran her own interior design firm, built from scratch, and she wasn’t about to let her deepest desire slip through her fingers.

“Greg, we need to talk about the baby thing again,” she said, her voice cutting through the silence like a blade. She crossed her arms, her toned biceps flexing beneath her silk blouse.

He didn’t even look up. “Masie, we’ve been over this. I’m not ready. Work’s insane, and I can’t handle the stress of a kid right now.”

Her jaw tightened. “And I’m supposed to just wait until your precious career decides it’s convenient? I’m not a fucking blueprint you can revise later, Greg. I want this. Now.”

He sighed, finally meeting her gaze with a tired shrug. “I’m sorry, babe. I just… can’t.”

The doorbell rang, a sharp interruption that saved Greg from the storm brewing in Masie’s eyes. She strode to the door, her heels clicking with purpose on the hardwood floor, and swung it open to reveal Jace, the handyman they’d hired to fix the leaky sink. He was all rugged edges—broad shoulders, calloused hands, and a smirk that could melt steel. His dark hair was tousled, and a bead of sweat rolled down his temple as he hefted his toolbox.

“Mornin’, Mrs. Carter,” Jace drawled, his voice a low rumble. “Heard you’ve got a drip that needs fixing.”

Masie’s lips curled into a sly smile, her frustration with Greg morphing into something hotter, more dangerous. “Oh, I’ve got a drip alright,” she quipped, stepping aside to let him in. “But it’s not just the sink that’s begging for attention.”

Jace raised an eyebrow, catching the edge in her tone. “Is that so? I’m pretty good with my hands. Might be able to handle more than just plumbing.”

She laughed, a sharp, throaty sound that sent a jolt through him. “Careful, Jace. I’m not the kind of woman who plays nice when I want something fixed.”

As Greg muttered something about a conference call and disappeared upstairs, Masie led Jace to the kitchen. She leaned against the counter again, this time deliberately, letting her blouse slip just enough to reveal the curve of her cleavage. Jace set down his toolbox, his gaze lingering on her as he wiped his hands on a rag.

“You’re trouble, aren’t you?” he said, stepping closer, the air between them crackling. “Husband upstairs, and here you are, looking at me like I’m the only tool you need.”

Masie’s eyes gleamed with challenge. “Maybe you are. I’m done waiting for permission to get what I want. Question is, can you handle a job this… demanding?”

Jace grinned, closing the distance until she could feel the heat radiating off him. “Darlin’, I’ve got all the equipment to get the job done. Just say the word.”

Her breath hitched, but her voice stayed steady, commanding. “Then stop talking and start working.”

His hand slid to her waist, rough fingers brushing against her skin as he pulled her closer. Her pulse raced, her body already responding to the raw energy of him. She could feel how hard he was through his jeans, pressing against her thigh, and a rush of heat flooded her core. Her pussy ached with a need she hadn’t felt in months, a dripping, desperate hunger that Greg couldn’t satisfy. Jace’s other hand tangled in her hair, tilting her head back as his lips hovered over hers, teasing.

“I’m gonna make a mess of you, Masie,” he growled, his voice thick with promise. “You ready for that?”

She smirked, her nails digging into his shoulders. “I don’t break easy, Jace. Show me what you’ve got.”

Their lips crashed together, a collision of raw want and pent-up frustration, as the kitchen counter became their battlefield. The promise of something explosive hung in the air, sweaty and urgent, as they teetered on the edge of no return.
