Chapter 1: The Installation of Temptation
Dave leaned back in his creaky office chair, the hum of the air conditioning blending with the faint tapping of keyboards around him. His eyes, sharp and calculating, flicked toward Pia’s desk across the open-plan office. Pia, with her confident stride and no-nonsense attitude, was the kind of woman who commanded a room without even trying. Her dark hair was pulled into a tight bun, and her tailored blazer hugged her curves in a way that made Dave’s thoughts wander far from spreadsheets.
'If only I could crack that armor,' he mused, a sly grin creeping across his face as he plugged a discreet USB drive into his computer. The screen flickered, loading the illicit mind control application he’d spent weeks perfecting. A few clicks, a hidden remote access to Pia’s system, and the trap was set. He watched as the progress bar ticked to 100%. 'Let’s see how unbreakable you really are, Pia.'
Pia, oblivious to the digital intrusion, sipped her coffee and shot him a glance. 'Staring again, Dave? If I didn’t know better, I’d think you were plotting something.' Her voice was teasing, but there was an edge to it, a challenge.
Dave chuckled, leaning forward with a mock-innocent shrug. 'Just admiring a work of art, Pia. Can’t blame a guy for appreciating the view.'
She rolled her eyes, but a smirk tugged at her lips. 'Keep dreaming, tech boy. I don’t mix business with... whatever you’re fantasizing about.' Her tone was sharp, cutting through his bravado like a knife, but Dave only grinned wider. The app was already working, burrowing into her subconscious, rewriting boundaries she didn’t even know she had.
By mid-afternoon, he noticed the subtle shift. Pia’s posture relaxed when she spoke to him, her laughs came easier, and her eyes lingered just a fraction longer. She sauntered over to his desk, leaning in close enough that he could smell the faint citrus of her perfume. 'Hey, Dave, got a minute? I’m having trouble with my system. Keeps lagging. You’re the tech wizard—fix it?' Her voice was honeyed now, almost playful.
'Sure thing, boss lady,' he replied, his pulse quickening as he followed her to her desk. He sat in her chair, her scent enveloping him, while she stood over his shoulder, her breath warm against his ear. 'Let’s see what’s got you all... tied up.' His words dripped with innuendo, testing the waters.
Pia laughed, a low, throaty sound that sent a jolt straight through him. 'Oh, Dave, you’re trouble. But I’m not complaining. Fix my computer, and maybe I’ll owe you one.' Her hand brushed his arm, deliberate and electric.
As he typed meaningless commands to keep up the charade, Dave felt the app’s influence tightening its grip. Pia’s words grew bolder, her tone shifting to something dangerously intimate. 'You know, I’ve always thought you had clever hands. Bet they’re good for more than just keyboards.'
He turned his head, meeting her gaze, her dark eyes smoldering with a hunger that hadn’t been there hours ago. 'Careful, Pia. Keep talking like that, and I might have to show you just how clever they can be.' His voice was a low growl, matching her fire with his own.
She leaned closer, her lips inches from his, a wicked smile playing on them. 'Promises, promises. I’m not some shy intern, Dave. If you’ve got something to prove, I’m all ears... or maybe something else.' Her challenge hung in the air, thick with tension, as her fingers grazed his thigh under the desk.
Dave’s breath hitched, his body responding instantly, a hardness growing that he couldn’t ignore. The office around them faded, the hum of coworkers irrelevant as the heat between them built to a breaking point. He stood, towering over her for a moment, before guiding her toward the empty conference room nearby, the door clicking shut behind them.
'Let’s see if you can keep up with me, Pia,' he murmured, his hands already reaching for her, the promise of something raw and unrestrained crackling in the air.
