Dormitory Desires: A Forbidden Threesome

### Chapter One: Dorm Room Delights

The air in Will’s office was thick with the scent of stale coffee and the faint musk of old paperwork. The small room, tucked into the basement of Laurel Hall at Eastern Connecticut State University, was a chaotic shrine to administrative neglect—stacks of incident reports teetered on the desk, a whiteboard bore half-erased RA schedules, and a sad, flickering fluorescent light buzzed overhead. Will, the hall director, leaned back in his creaky desk chair, his tie loosened, sleeves rolled up to reveal forearms dusted with dark hair. At thirty-two, he carried the charm of a man who knew he could get away with a little sleaze, his crooked grin and sharp hazel eyes disarming even the most skeptical of students.

Across from him sat Nina and Karina, two of his student staff members, perched on mismatched chairs with the kind of confidence that could stop a room cold. Nina, with her dark curls pulled into a messy bun and a piercing gaze, tapped a pen against her full lips, her posture screaming impatience. Karina, all sharp cheekbones and honeyed skin, lounged with one leg crossed over the other, her smirk a weapon in its own right. Both were seniors, RAs under Will’s supervision, and neither suffered fools gladly. The late-night staff meeting was supposed to be about dorm logistics, but the undercurrent of tension was already buzzing like the faulty light above.

“Alright, ladies,” Will started, his voice a lazy drawl as he spun a pen between his fingers. “Let’s get through the boring stuff before we all fall asleep. Clogged toilet in 3B. Again. Thoughts?”

Nina rolled her eyes, dropping her pen onto the desk with a clatter. “Thoughts? How about we stop hiring plumbers who think ‘fixing’ means shoving a plunger in and calling it a day? I had to wade through a swamp of complaints from those frat boys last night. One of them called me ‘mommy’ while begging for a mop. Disgusting.”

Karina snorted, her laugh low and throaty. “Oh, please, Nina. You loved the attention. Don’t pretend you didn’t flex that RA authority just to watch them squirm.”

“Excuse you,” Nina shot back, turning to Karina with a mock glare. “I don’t need validation from boys who can’t spell ‘hygiene.’ Unlike some people who flirt with anything that breathes.” She cast a pointed look at Will, her lips twitching into a smirk.

Will raised his hands in mock surrender, his grin widening. “Hey, I’m just sitting here, minding my own business. But if you’re accusing me of charm, guilty as charged. Can’t help it if I’ve got a certain… je ne sais quoi.”

Karina leaned forward, her elbow on the desk, chin resting on her hand as she fixed him with a look that could melt steel. “Oh, please, Will. The only ‘quoi’ you’ve got is a midlife crisis waiting to happen. How old are you again? Pushing forty? Should we get you a walker for those late-night rounds?”

“Thirty-two, thank you very much,” Will retorted, leaning forward to match her energy, his voice dripping with playful indignation. “And I’ll have you know I can keep up with you college kids just fine. Better, even. Care to test that theory?”

Nina laughed, sharp and cutting, as she crossed her arms over her chest. “Big talk for a guy whose idea of a wild night is probably grading incident reports with a glass of cheap merlot. What’s next, Will? Gonna invite us to a book club?”

“Maybe I will,” he shot back, his eyes glinting with mischief as they flicked between the two women. “But my book club comes with a dress code. Less clothing, more… discussion.”

Karina arched a perfectly sculpted brow, unfazed. “Cute. But if you think we’re the kind of girls who blush at a little innuendo, you’ve got the wrong staff members. We’re not your wide-eyed freshmen, Will. We bite back.”

“Oh, I’m counting on it,” he murmured, his voice dropping an octave as he held Karina’s gaze just a beat too long. The room seemed to shrink, the air crackling with something unspoken. His knee brushed against Nina’s under the desk—accidental, or maybe not—and she didn’t pull away. Instead, she tilted her head, her smirk daring him to push further.

“Careful, old man,” Nina warned, her tone teasing but laced with a challenge. “Keep playing with fire, and you might get burned. Or worse, you might bore us to death with more dorm drama. What’s next on the agenda? Noise complaints?”

Will chuckled, dragging his gaze away from Nina to flip open a manila folder. “Yeah, speaking of noise, we’ve got a report from 4C. Apparently, someone’s been throwing parties loud enough to wake the dead. Any intel, ladies? Or are you too busy plotting my demise to notice?”

Karina leaned back, stretching her arms above her head in a way that was entirely too deliberate, her shirt riding up just enough to draw Will’s eye. “Oh, we’ve noticed plenty. But if you think we’re gonna do your dirty work and snitch, think again. You want dirt? Get off your ancient ass and patrol the halls yourself.”

“Ancient?” Will clutched his chest dramatically, feigning offense. “I’m wounded, Karina. Here I thought we had a connection. A bond. A forbidden little spark.”

Nina scoffed, but her eyes danced with amusement as she leaned closer, her voice a conspiratorial whisper. “The only spark here is the one we’re gonna set under your chair if you keep fishing for compliments. Face it, Will, you’re out of your league. Two against one? You don’t stand a chance.”

He grinned, undeterred, his gaze lingering on the way Nina’s lips curled as she spoke. “Maybe I like those odds. Ever think of that? A little danger keeps things interesting.”

The banter hung in the air, heavy with suggestion, as the three of them sat in a triangle of charged silence. Karina’s foot nudged Will’s under the desk, a fleeting touch that sent a jolt through him, while Nina’s fingers drummed on the desk, her eyes locked on his with an intensity that made his pulse quicken. The meeting had long since derailed, the mundane forgotten in favor of this dangerous dance of words and glances.

Finally, Will cleared his throat, breaking the tension with a smirk. “You know, I think we’ve covered enough ground for one night. How about we take this… discussion somewhere more comfortable? My place is just off-campus. Got a bottle of something stronger than dorm coffee to share. If you’re up for it.”

Karina exchanged a look with Nina, a silent agreement passing between them before she turned back to Will, her smile predatory. “Oh, we’re up for it, boss. But don’t think this means you’re in charge. We call the shots, got it?”

Nina nodded, standing and smoothing her jeans with a deliberate slowness that made Will’s mouth go dry. “Lead the way, grandpa. Let’s see if you can keep up off the clock. But fair warning—we don’t play nice.”

Will stood, grabbing his jacket with a laugh that was half nerves, half anticipation. “Wouldn’t have it any other way.”

As they filed out of the cramped office, the flickering light buzzing one last time before they shut the door, the night stretched ahead of them, ripe with possibilities. Whatever was brewing between them—flirtation, power, or something far messier—was only just beginning.
