Double Desire: Crossing Lines with Liza, Yegor, and Forbidden Heat

### Chapter One: Unexpected Heat in the Locker Room

The university gym locker room was a haze of steam and echoes, the air thick with the sharp tang of sweat and the lingering mist of body spray. The tiled walls glistened with condensation from the recent showers, and the faint clatter of metal lockers punctuated the low hum of post-practice exhaustion. It was late, the kind of hour where most athletes had already peeled off their gear and stumbled back to their dorms, leaving the space eerily quiet—except for the sharp, cutting voices of two rivals who couldn’t seem to let a single game go.

Alex leaned against his locker, one towel slung low around his hips, another draped over his broad shoulders. His dark hair was still damp, curling at the nape of his neck, and his hazel eyes glinted with a mix of irritation and amusement as he tossed a jab at Max, who was yanking off his shin guards a few lockers down. “You know, if you’d actually paid attention to the play instead of tripping over your own ego, we might’ve won today,” Alex said, his voice dripping with mock sweetness. “Just saying, princess.”

Max, all lean muscle and sharp angles, shot him a glare that could’ve melted steel. His blond hair was a mess, sticking to his forehead with sweat, and his blue eyes narrowed as he straightened up, tossing his gear into his locker with a loud clang. “Oh, please, Alex. If I’m a princess, you’re the court jester—flopping around out there like you’ve never seen a ball in your life. Maybe if you’d pulled your head out of your ass, I wouldn’t have had to cover for you.”

Their banter was a familiar dance, a rhythm of insults honed over months of rivalry on the field. But tonight, there was an edge to it, a crackle in the air that neither of them could quite name. Practice had been brutal, the coach riding them harder than ever, and the tension between them felt like a live wire, sparking with every word. Alex stepped closer, crossing his arms over his chest, the towel shifting just enough to reveal the hard lines of his abs. “Cover for me? That’s rich. I’m pretty sure I was the one hauling your sorry ass out of trouble when you missed that pass.”

Max smirked, closing the distance between them until they were only a foot apart, the heat of their bodies mingling with the steam in the air. “Keep talking, pretty boy. I could’ve made that pass blindfolded if you hadn’t been in my damn way.” His voice dropped lower, almost a growl, and for a moment, their eyes locked—a challenge, a dare, something unspoken simmering just beneath the surface.

Before Alex could fire back, the sharp clack of boots on tile cut through the tension like a knife. From around the corner, Lisa emerged, her presence commanding the room without effort. The student trainer was a force of nature—tall, with a cascade of dark curls pulled into a messy bun, and piercing green eyes that seemed to see straight through bullshit. She wore a fitted gym tank and leggings that hugged her curves, a clipboard tucked under one arm as she balanced a stack of equipment in the other. Her lips curled into a wry smile as she surveyed the two boys, clearly having overheard their little spat.

“Well, well, if it isn’t the dynamic duo, bickering like an old married couple,” she drawled, her voice laced with biting humor. She set the equipment down with a deliberate thud, crossing her arms and leaning against the wall, her posture all confidence and control. “You two gonna kiss and make up, or do I need to hose you down to cool off?”

Alex blinked, caught off guard, while Max let out a bark of laughter, though his cheeks flushed a faint pink. “Lisa, always a pleasure to have you crash the party,” Max shot back, trying to regain his footing. “What, you here to play referee, or just to enjoy the view?”

Lisa’s smirk widened, her gaze flicking between them with predatory amusement. “Oh, honey, I’ve got better things to do than babysit your egos. But I gotta say, the view ain’t half bad.” She tilted her head, her eyes lingering on Alex’s barely-covered frame for just a beat too long before snapping back to Max. “Though if you’re gonna keep squawking like a pair of roosters, I might just lock you in here and let you sort it out yourselves.”

Alex recovered enough to grin, leaning casually against the locker again, though his pulse was racing under her scrutiny. “Careful, Lisa. Keep talking like that, and we might think you’re into watching.”

Her laugh was sharp, cutting, and utterly unapologetic. “Dream on, sweetheart. I’ve got my own entertainment waiting in the lobby.” She jerked her chin toward the gym entrance, where everyone knew Egor, the brooding artist with a penchant for sketching athletes mid-motion, often lingered with his sketchpad. “Unlike you two, he knows how to use his hands for something other than throwing punches—or missing passes.”

Max raised an eyebrow, stepping closer to her, his competitive streak flaring even in this new arena. “Oh, come on, Lisa. You saying that artsy boy’s got more game than us? That’s a low blow.”

Lisa didn’t flinch, her gaze steady and piercing as she looked up at him, unfazed by his height or charm. “I’m saying he doesn’t waste my time with petty bullshit. You two, on the other hand…” She let the sentence hang, her eyes glinting with mischief as she pushed off the wall, picking up her clipboard. “Could stand to loosen up a little. Life’s too short for all this macho posturing.”

She turned on her heel, her boots echoing as she started to walk away, but not before throwing one last barb over her shoulder. “Figure out how to play nice, boys. Or don’t. I’m sure I’ll hear all about it either way.” Her smirk was the last thing they saw before she disappeared around the corner, leaving a charged silence in her wake.

Alex let out a low whistle, running a hand through his damp hair. “Damn. She’s… something else.”

Max snorted, though his eyes were still fixed on the spot where she’d been standing. “Yeah. Something else that could probably chew us up and spit us out without breaking a sweat.”

They exchanged a look, the earlier tension between them shifting into something new—something tinged with curiosity and a shared, unspoken intrigue. Lisa had thrown down a gauntlet, and neither of them was the type to back away from a challenge. The locker room felt hotter than ever, and as they grabbed their gear in silence, both knew this was only the beginning of a game far more complicated than anything they’d played on the field.
