Double Trouble: When Cady, the Tech Goddess, Hacks Pregnancy and Her Greek God Family Can't Handle the Chaos

Chapter One: The Unexpected News

Cady's bare feet padded softly against the cool marble floor of her chambers, the distant sound of Hephaestus' hammering echoing through the mountain. She rushed to the bathroom, her hand covering her mouth as she barely made it to the toilet in time. As she emptied her stomach, she noticed with mild curiosity that even the thought of her favorite ambrosia salad made her queasy.

Perplexed, she leaned back against the wall, her mind racing. It couldn't be, could it? She had always been meticulous about her, well, monthly arrangements. But as she thought back, there had been a few... changes. She sighed, shaking her head. There was only one way to know for sure.

Cady stood in front of the ornate mirror, her reflection staring back at her with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension. She picked up the small, golden box, opening it to reveal a tiny, white stick. She followed the instructions, her heart pounding in her chest as she waited for the results.

The lines appeared, leaving Cady stunned. She leaned against the counter, her mind reeling. This was... unexpected. She took a deep breath, trying to calm her racing thoughts. She had to tell Hephaestus.

She found him in their shared workshop, his brow furrowed in concentration as he tinkered with one of his latest inventions. She approached him, her hands twisting together nervously. "Hephaestus?"

He looked up, his dark eyes meeting hers. "Yes, my love?"

She took a deep breath, her voice barely above a whisper. "I have something to tell you."

His brow furrowed even more, a small line appearing between his eyes. "What is it, Cady?"

She took a deep breath, her hands resting on her still-flat stomach. "I'm pregnant."

His eyes widened, his hands stilling on his project. "What?"

She nodded, holding up the pregnancy test as proof. "I took a test. I'm pregnant."

He stared at her for a moment, his mind trying to process the information. And then, he was moving, his strong arms wrapping around her as he lifted her off the ground. "You're pregnant?" he repeated, his voice filled with joy.

She nodded, her arms wrapping around his neck as she laughed. "Yes, I'm pregnant."

A week later, they found themselves in the Olympus Medical Center, their hands clasped together as they waited for their ultrasound. The sonographer called them in, her smile warm as she greeted them. "Cady, Hephaestus, welcome. Let's take a look, shall we?"

Cady lay back, her heart pounding in her chest as the sonographer moved the wand over her stomach. And then, there they were. Two tiny, wriggling forms, their hearts beating strong and steady.

Cady gasped, her hand flying to her mouth as she stared at the screen. "Twins?"

The sonographer nodded, her smile growing even wider. "Yes, twins."

Hephaestus' hand tightened on Cady's, his eyes filled with tears as he stared at the screen. "Twins," he repeated, his voice filled with awe.

They left the medical center in a daze, their minds still trying to process the news. Cady leaned against Hephaestus, her head resting on his shoulder as they walked.

Hephaestus suddenly grinned, his eyes twinkling. "Cady, do you realize what this means?"

She looked up at him, her brow furrowing in confusion. "What?"

He chuckled, his arm wrapping around her waist as he pulled her closer. "You, my love, are going to have your hands full."

Cady laughed, her head thrown back as she reveled in the joy of the moment. "You have no idea," she retorted, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

Hephaestus raised an eyebrow, his grin growing even wider. "Oh, I think I do. After all, your inventive mind is going to have to adapt to the unpredictability of raising twins."

Cady rolled her eyes, but she couldn't hide her smile. "And you, my dear husband, are going to have to learn how to change diapers."

He laughed, his arm tightening around her as they continued their walk. "I suppose I am," he conceded, his eyes filled with love.

Cady leaned against him, her hand resting on her stomach. "Our future masterminds," she whispered, her voice filled with affection.

They shared the news with the rest of the Olympian family, each one reacting differently. Athena, Cady's best friend and confidant, was initially surprised but quickly offered her support. Zeus, the king of the gods, playfully warned Hephaestus about the sleepless nights to come. Hera, his wife, expressed her excitement.

Throughout the announcements, Cady remained strong and assertive, taking charge of the situation with grace and humor. She was the goddess of inventions and technology, after all. She could handle anything.

The chapter concluded with Cady and Hephaestus, hand in hand, feeling a deep sense of love and anticipation for the future. They were excited for the challenges and adventures that lay ahead, knowing that they would face them together.

As they walked back to their chambers, Cady looked up at Hephaestus, her eyes filled with love. "I love you," she whispered.

He leaned down, his lips meeting hers in a soft, tender kiss. "I love you too, Cady. Always."

And with that, they disappeared into their chambers, the laughter and love of their family ringing in their ears. The future was uncertain, but one thing was for sure. They were in this together.
