Double Trouble: When the Goddess of Invention Throws Up, Gets Knocked Up, and Shuts Down the Gods with Her Wicked Sense of Humor

Chapter One: The Unexpected Announcement

The grand dining hall of Mount Olympus was filled with the usual boisterous chatter and laughter as the twelve main gods and goddesses took their seats at the table. But today, the atmosphere was different. A tense energy hung in the air, and even the ever-present sound of clinking goblets seemed muted.

At the head of the table, Cady, the goddess of inventions and technology, sat quietly, her green eyes scanning the faces of her fellow deities. She looked a bit pale, and Hephaestus, her Mexican husband with tan skin and dark brown hair, noticed this.

"Cady, are you okay?" Hephaestus asked, placing a hand on her forehead. "You've been looking a bit off lately."

Cady hesitated for a moment before responding, "I've been... experiencing some unusual symptoms. I took a pregnancy test, and it came back positive."

The room erupted into chaos as the gods and goddesses reacted to the news. Athena, the goddess of wisdom, raised an eyebrow, "Twins, Cady? You always did like to do things on a grand scale."

Cady rolled her eyes, "Yes, Athena, twins. I'm sure you'll find a way to make it about you."

Zeus, the king of the gods, boomed with laughter, "Well, this is certainly a surprise! Congratulations, Cady and Hephaestus. Twins, huh? You'll have your hands full."

Hera, the queen of the gods and Zeus's wife, looked less than thrilled, "Twins, Cady? Really? I hope you're prepared for the chaos that comes with having two children at once."

Cady smiled, "Oh, I'm more than prepared. I've already started working on some new inventions to help us out."

Demeter, the goddess of the harvest, looked thoughtful, "Perhaps I could help you with some herbs and remedies to ease the pregnancy symptoms."

Cady nodded, "That would be great, Demeter. Thank you."

Poseidon, the god of the sea, looked intrigued, "I wonder what the twins will be like. Will they have your inventive mind, Cady, or Hephaestus's crafting skills?"

Aphrodite, the goddess of love, giggled, "I bet they'll be absolutely adorable. I can't wait to spoil them!"

Ares, the god of war, looked impressed, "Twins, huh? You're stronger than I thought, Cady."

Cady smirked, "Yes, Ares, I am. Don't underestimate me."

Hermes, the god of messengers, grinned, "Well, this is certainly exciting news. I'll make sure to spread the word."

As the commotion died down, Cady couldn't help but feel a sense of satisfaction. She had always been a strong and independent goddess, and the thought of bringing two new lives into the world both exhilarated and terrified her. But she knew she was ready for the challenge.

"I may be having twins," she said, her voice steady and confident, "but I won't be letting that slow me down. I'll continue to innovate and create, just as I always have."

And with that, the room erupted into applause, and Cady knew that she was ready to take on whatever the future held.
