Maria sat behind the wheel of her car, her hands clutching it tightly as she went over the driving test route in her head for the hundredth time. She could feel her heart racing, her palms growing slick with sweat.
"You're going to do great, babe," her boyfriend, Mark, said, squeezing her shoulder reassuringly. But Maria could hear the uncertainty in his voice, and it only served to make her nerves worse.
Just then, the driver's side door opened, and a man slid into the back seat. Maria's heart skipped a beat as she took in his handsome features, his confident smile. This was her driving instructor, and she could already tell that he was going to be a problem.
Mark seemed to sense it too, his shoulders tensing as the instructor introduced himself. "I'm Alex," he said, his voice smooth and assured. "And I'm here to help you pass that test, Maria."
Alex gave her a few pointers, his voice low and soothing in her ear. Maria tried to focus, but she couldn't help but feel a little flustered with him sitting so close behind her. She could feel his breath on her neck, his hands brushing against hers on the steering wheel.
Mark tried to interject, but Alex shut him down with a playful insult. "I think I've got this, Mark," Maria said, trying to hide her smile. She couldn't believe how confident and charismatic Alex was, how he seemed to command the attention of everyone in the car.
As they continued their lesson, Maria found herself making a few mistakes. Alex took the opportunity to gently correct her, his hands briefly touching hers on the steering wheel. She could feel a spark of electricity between them, and she couldn't help but wonder if he felt it too.
Mark grew increasingly agitated, trying to assert his dominance by pointing out Alex's mistakes. But Alex was unphased, his playful insults causing Maria to stifle a giggle.
Feeling a little reckless, Maria asked Alex to show her some "advanced" driving techniques. He obliged, guiding her through a series of tight turns and quick stops. Maria's heart raced as she felt the adrenaline pumping through her veins.
Alex, noticing her excitement, pushed her even further, encouraging her to let go of her inhibitions. Maria, feeling emboldened, took his advice and started to really let loose. She was having the time of her life, and Alex was clearly enjoying himself too.
As they finished their lesson, Maria's boyfriend, completely forgotten, stared out the window in shock as Maria and Alex laughed and high-fived each other in the front seat. Maria knew that she had found her driving instructor, and she couldn't wait to see what the next lesson would bring.
