Elevated Desires

Elevated Desires

Chapter 1: The Ascent

The elevator hummed softly as it climbed the sleek, glass tower of the upscale hotel. Inside, Lila Voss stood with her arms crossed, her sharp emerald eyes scanning the mirrored walls with a mix of impatience and amusement. She was a woman who commanded attention—tall, with a tailored black blazer hugging her curves and a skirt that teased just enough thigh to turn heads. At 34, she was a corporate shark, here for a conference, and she didn’t have time for nonsense.

The doors slid open on the fifth floor, and in stepped Ethan Drake, a man who looked like he’d just walked off the cover of a men’s magazine. Dark hair tousled just right, a jawline that could cut glass, and a suit that screamed money. He flashed a crooked grin as he leaned against the wall opposite her, his gaze lingering a little too long on her legs.

“Going up?” he asked, his voice a low, playful drawl.

Lila arched a brow, unfazed. “Clearly. Unless you think I’m here for the scenery.”

He chuckled, stepping closer as the doors sealed shut. “Oh, the scenery’s not bad from where I’m standing. Though I’m guessing you’re not the type to appreciate a cheap line.”

“You’d guess right,” she shot back, her lips curling into a smirk. “I eat cheap lines for breakfast. Got anything better?”

Ethan’s eyes gleamed with challenge. “How about this: I’ve got ten floors to convince you I’m worth more than a passing glance. Care to wager I can’t?”

Lila tilted her head, her pulse quickening despite herself. “Bold. I like bold. But I don’t wager with strangers. What’s your name, slick?”

“Ethan. And you’re...?”

“Lila. And I’ll give you five floors. Impress me.”

The air between them crackled as the elevator ticked past floor six. Ethan pushed off the wall, closing the distance until he was just inches from her. The scent of his cologne—woodsy, intoxicating—hit her like a wave. “Alright, Lila,” he murmured, his voice dropping an octave. “I’m not here to play games. I see a woman like you—sharp, untouchable—and I can’t help but wonder how it’d feel to break through that armor. Not to own you. To match you.”

Her breath hitched, but she didn’t back down. “Big words. You think you’ve got what it takes to keep up with me?”

“Try me,” he whispered, his hand brushing the edge of her blazer, testing her boundaries. “I bet you’re as fierce in private as you are in public.”

Lila’s eyes darkened with heat, her body betraying her cool exterior. She grabbed his tie, pulling him closer, her lips hovering near his. “Careful, Ethan. I don’t play nice. You might get burned.”

“Burn me, then,” he growled, his hands sliding to her hips as the elevator dinged past floor eight. “I’m already on fire.”

Their mouths crashed together, a collision of hunger and defiance. Lila’s fingers tightened on his tie, yanking him against her as his hands roamed, gripping her ass with a boldness that made her gasp into the kiss. She felt him, hard against her thigh, and a wicked grin spread across her face as she broke away, panting. “Not bad for a stranger. But we’ve got two floors left. Show me what else you’ve got.”

Ethan’s smirk was pure sin as he pressed her against the mirrored wall, his breath hot on her neck. “Oh, Lila, I’m just getting started. By the time we hit ten, you’ll be dripping for me.”

Her laugh was sharp, daring. “Prove it.”

The elevator shuddered slightly as it neared the final floor, their bodies pressed tight, sweating with anticipation. His fingers teased the edge of her skirt, inching higher, while her nails dug into his shoulders, urging him on. She was wet, aching, and she knew he could feel her heat. The tension was unbearable, their words replaced by ragged breaths, both of them horny and ready to explode. The ding of the tenth floor was seconds away, and with it, the promise of something raw and untamed.
