Enchanted Dominion: The Stone of Desire

Enchanted Dominion: The Stone of Desire

Chapter 1: The Unseen Power

I’ve always known my little brother, Ethan, was a sneaky bastard, but lately, something’s been off. Way off. I’m Caleb, the older, wiser, and—let’s be honest—better-looking sibling at twenty-three, while Ethan’s just turned nineteen and still acts like a horny teenager. But over the past week, I’ve caught him doing things that should’ve gotten him slapped into next Tuesday. Instead, everyone just… goes along with it. Like it’s normal. Like it’s right. And I’m starting to burn with a jealousy I can’t shake.

It started with small things. Ethan would tell Mom to make him a sandwich at 2 a.m., and she’d do it with a smile, even though she’d normally chew him out for waking her up. Then it got weirder. Yesterday, I walked into the living room and saw him with his hand on Mom’s ass, squeezing it like he owned her. She just laughed and said, ‘Oh, Ethan, you’re such a tease,’ before swatting his hand away playfully. Playfully! I stood there, jaw on the floor, waiting for the explosion that never came.

‘Hey, Caleb, what’s with the face? You look like you swallowed a lemon,’ Ethan smirked, catching my stare as he lounged on the couch, his hand now casually resting on our sister Lila’s thigh. Lila, who’s twenty-one and could bench press Ethan if she wanted to, didn’t even flinch. She just kept scrolling on her phone, like his fingers weren’t inches from places they shouldn’t be.

‘What the hell are you doing, man?’ I snapped, my voice low but sharp. ‘You think you can just grope whoever you want now?’

Ethan grinned, that smug little shit look he’s perfected over the years. ‘Relax, bro. They don’t mind. Do you, Lila?’

Lila glanced up, her sharp green eyes meeting mine with a casual shrug. ‘Nope. It’s just Ethan being Ethan. Chill, Caleb. You’re acting like a prude.’

I blinked, my brain short-circuiting. Since when was Lila okay with this? She’s the kind of woman who’d castrate a guy for looking at her wrong, let alone touching her. I turned to Mom, who was in the kitchen humming as she washed dishes, completely unbothered by the fact that her youngest son had just pawed at her like she was some barmaid.

‘Mom, you’re seriously fine with this?’ I called out, my tone dripping with disbelief.

She turned, wiping her hands on a towel, her smile as warm as ever. ‘With what, honey? Ethan’s just being affectionate. You should try it sometime—loosen up a bit.’

I felt my face heat up, a mix of rage and something darker twisting in my gut. Affectionate? That wasn’t affection. That was Ethan taking liberties no one in their right mind would allow. And yet, here we were. I glared at him, his hand still on Lila’s thigh, his smirk growing wider.

‘You’re a creep, you know that?’ I hissed, stepping closer. ‘What’s your deal lately? You got some kind of magic trick up your sleeve?’

Ethan’s eyes gleamed with something I couldn’t place, a secret dancing behind his lazy grin. ‘Maybe I do, Caleb. Or maybe I’m just… persuasive. Ever think of that?’

‘Persuasive, my ass,’ I shot back, but my words lacked the bite I wanted. Because deep down, I was starting to wonder. How was he getting away with this? How was he making everyone bend to his whims without so much as a protest?

That night, I couldn’t sleep. My room is right next to Lila’s, and around midnight, I heard her door creak open. Then voices—low, teasing, and unmistakably Ethan’s. I pressed my ear to the wall, my heart pounding with a mix of anger and morbid curiosity.

‘Come on, Lila, don’t be shy,’ Ethan’s voice purred, dripping with confidence. ‘You know you want to show me more.’

‘Oh, please,’ Lila retorted, her tone sharp but playful. ‘You think you can handle me, little brother? I’m not one of your timid little crushes. You’d better be ready to keep up.’

I heard a rustle of fabric, a low chuckle from Ethan, and then Lila’s voice again, huskier this time. ‘Fine. But if you’re all talk, I’m kicking you out.’

My fists clenched at my sides, my breath hitching as I imagined what was happening on the other side of that wall. Was he touching her again? Was she letting him? The jealousy gnawed at me, raw and ugly, mixed with a forbidden heat I didn’t want to acknowledge. I wanted to barge in, to stop whatever game Ethan was playing, but I couldn’t move. I was rooted to the spot, listening as the air grew thick with tension, knowing that any second now, things were about to explode.

And then I heard it—a soft gasp from Lila, followed by Ethan’s low growl. ‘Fuck, you’re so wet already.’

My mind reeled, my body betraying me as I stood there, sweating, panting, caught between rage and a dark, twisted desire to know just how far this would go.
